Converting A Male Papaya To Female?

I love gardening and growing anything in my small garden but I wasn't aware that there are male and female papayas. I had been seeing these flowers lately on a papaya growing in our back yard I couldn't wait for them to become fruits. Well I was disappointed to know that these won't turn into fruits as this Papaya is a male one.

When I did a little search I read that you can convert a male Papaya into a female so it can grow fruits. The quick solution is to stick a skewer or any wooden stick onto the trunk and wait. I only managed to get one stick in but I read there should be another stick criss crossing the previous one. I am not sure if this will work but here I tried it ASAP.
