Blooming cacti - Chamaecereus hybrid

I was going though my cactus photos from last year and I noticed that at this time of the year I already had one in bloom. Different one than the one you see here. It was a lovely Rebutia that did die on my later in the year. (You can check my last year's post about her here). No flowers for me this year besides the mammillaria that was blooming almost all winter long. I will have to wait for some to pop. And I do see some buds here and there.

And most of all I do see multiple buds on this Chamaecereus hybrid. Yes.. that is the one you see here. It had two lovely, coral flowers last year. After that it managed to grow lots of little babies around the main plant. I did repot it this year to a mush larger pot so I hope those little ones will grow nice and big this season and next year they will also bloom.

The buds are still tiny and they also might blast. So looking forward to see the flowers though.
Other cacti seem a bit more lazy. I dunno, if the winter was too mild (some really need cold winter sleep), or maybe they didn't grow enough last season...
It is still early. I will wait and see.

On a different note I was trying to research what types of cacti I could possible crosspolinate with each other. Apparently this what I found:

"The Chamaelobivia hybrids. Chamaecereus silvestri (now renamed Echinopsis chamaecereus) is an old species widely hybridized with various Lobivias, hence Chamaelobivia (intergenic hybrid of Chamaecereus and Lobivia), but since both of those are now reclassified as Echinopsis, that makes this an Echinopsis hybrid."source

My little brain tells me I could try to cross this one with any Lobivia, right?
I have one that blooms with gorgeous yellow flowers! If only they manage to open in the same time I will give it a go.
The only downfall of experiment like that is that it takes around 3 years for the seedling to grow and bloom. That is a long wait! And I know that I will manage to kill quite a bit of them in the meantime.
I will still give it a go though :)

Lastly a little shared photo with smaller Aylostera Flavistyla cactus.
Nice to see some bright colours when there is none out yet.
