As more and more younger film makers are discovering the joys of high quality High 8 camcorder film.

It was great to find a simple method on how to transfer vhs to laptop from my old high 8 video Sony camcorder. For older film makers looking through your old archives this little tool is a must have and can produce amazing results. I bought this Easycap video capture device to save my old family videos and it worked great. You can also hook up an old video recorder using the videocap device.
I transfered the videos off of my old Sony Handycam 8 mm High 8 camcorder.
It worked perfectly. The video quality is very good and it outputs in a range of formats.
High 8 film gives a resolution of about 900 lines so you can actually get high definition of about 720p + and if you have the right editing software like the free Olive video editor you can even rescale it to get rid of the black lines without any loss of quality.
Using the easycap software that comes with the device I have not found an easier video capture method and it works on Windows 10 and right back to Windows 7 and you can even hook up a games console to capture your gaming footage.
It comes with it's own dedicated software on disk too so no downloads needed.

Formats
MP1-4
DVD
AVI
and a whole bunch more
I have found that the DVD output gives the best quality so far and I am still trying other file types.

Although I was not paid to make this video by anyone. I may receive a commission when you buy via these links.

I see you've moved to the Docklands. Is your flat on a bridge? 🤣

I have a whole bunch of old VHS tapes that are probably damaged now, but who knows. I'd need a VCR as well though with this device.

..Also, I need to get a pet lion to walk around our car park area to scare off the delinquent youth around here.🦁

Check places like the British Heart Foundation you can pick up a vcr for a tenner.

Cheaper than sending them to a transcoding firm by about £1,000 👍
