The Last Of Us | I Understand The 10/10 Ratings! | Play On PC!
The last of us came out in June 14, 2013 and is considered to be one of the best games ever. As a PC gamer, I've never had the opportunity to play this game as it's an exclusive Playstation title, and I would never buy a console only to play one game. Especially as I rarely play single player games.

Selling over 1.3 million units in its first week and 17 million by April 2018, it won year-end accolades, including multiple Game of the Year awards from several gaming publications, critics, and game award ceremonies, and is considered one of the greatest video games ever made."
I have heard about Playstation now before but never bothered with it until today when I found my x-box controller. I bought that for my PC when I played some Rocket League, and I've considered it to be a terrible purchase ever since as I stopped playing RL in less than 2 weeks.
Well, I used to see this as a terrible purchase, but after playing The Last Of Us for about 20 minutes, I already consider it an awesome buy.
- The game is amazing.
I can tell you that I would prefer to play this on my computer... Everything feels wonky. My movement is off and the way I aim is terrible... And I mean terrible. I would be lethal with mouse and keyboard, but despite me playing like I've been drinking alcohol for 21 hours per day for the last 20 years, I can't help to love the game...
- It seems to be a masterpiece.
You never really have the time to get to know Sarah, her death and the short moments just before and after is very emotional. It feels real and it gets to you. You can literally see, hear and feel the pain in her father's voice and eyes while he's holding his dying daughter.
That being said, this game isn't about a revenge-seeking father like you are used to, or like you would think. At least not for as long as I have played. This game seems to be more focused about the bonding and the relationship between Joel (the father) and another girl. Ellie. But, it also seems to be about Joel and his mental health. I mean, who would not be affected if they lost their daughter, especially in the way he did it?
Anyhow, Joel makes a promise to someone you'll meet in the game and even though he doesn't want to do the things he is asked, at first, he is literally going through hell in his attempt to fulfill his promise. He promised to look after Ellie and to get her from one point to another. And he will.
Naughty Dog, the developer, has said that the solo campaign is between 12 and 16 hours long so I have a long way to go. I've been playing for about 4-5 hours in total so far. Despite that, I can already tell why this game is considered to be one of the greatest games ever made. The storyline feels fresh, wonderful and superb. It certainly feels like I could easily play this game more than once just to experience the utterly amazing story again.
The only way I would stop to play this game is if they messed something up entirely going forward, but I doubt it. When a game has ratings of 10/10, 9/10, 98/100 etc, you can't expect those types of blunders, so I am sure that I will finish this one.

They did an amazing job with the game. I got it with my PS4 when I got it years ago, haven't gotten around to finishing it yet as games galore come out all the time haha, but I love the game and I move more to single player games these days with great stories, done well and are enjoyable. That and back to retro games to relive my childhood but as they were some of the best games I played, and most games these days were pretty similar and the same old stuff.
I rarely play single player games. It's hard to explain but I've probably not enjoyed one single single player game since Zelda - A Link To The Past or something, lol. I've tried several dozens of games but never finished them... This game though, this is something else. I have probably never been this captivated by any other game so far.
Just imagine if I could've used a mouse and keyboard... Damn, this would've been truly perfect. Haha :D
If this game continues like this, I need to get The Last Of Us 2 in May 2020.
Did you enjoy single player games a lot in the past? Maybe you got into a phase where you just wanted to play more online games and the single player games didn't seem as good anymore, or you played them too much.
But a lot of companies did start focusing more on the online aspect since that is where it was at! I find there are more SP coming out that are starting to get better, also the retro scene is growing.
The Last of Us 2 I am hoping to get as well, will finish the first before it is released though but I am keen for it. :)
Nah, not really. Ever since competitive games came out, like CS 1.6, I've been all in on those types of games. I haven't found any SP games after that, which has given me the level of satisfaction I'm looking for. Until The Last Of Us.
I mean, I've tried The Witcher 3 etc. And a bunch of other games with awesome reviews and amazing ratings, but I've never been able to fully enjoy any of them. The Witcher 3 was really cool and all, but I stopped playing after about 2 or 3 hours..
Yeah see you got into the phase of enjoying the competitive nature which is quite fun, especially when you win haha! It's hard to enjoy single player games when you aren't competing against people which is understandable. But you managed to find one you finally enjoyed again and hopefully there are others you enjoy to come, once devs bring out more quality games.
I get my competitive nature in Magic the Gathering: Arena, or in eve online if I go out and PvP. But online games tend to get repetitive and boring as most games released are the same, so for me I like variety and play a lot of games.
