Bot Vice review

Pick up an ex-cop who wants to sate her thirst for vengeance. Attach a bionic shooting arm to her as a result of the last encounter with the WildBots where her partner got killed. Now that there is a clue of where her nemesis is, it's time to start the game for Erin Saver.

Top down shooter gameplay is reimagined with a very unique restriction - you can't leave the bottom of the screen. Use that barricade as a wall to protect yourself by rolling to the sides and taking cover. Use your moves wisely, because that barricade won't last forever.

As you play, a lot of games where inspiration has come from will throw themselves at you - Metal Slug's power up system, Mega Man X's buster and z-saber weapons and the enemy's designs are like ever-present eastereggs.

The tribute given to these classic games is not obvious though, as Bot Vice holds as it's very own thing. Bursty levels and the non-stop bullet rampage will force even very experienced gamers to take their time absorbing various mechanics (while we die ~10 times per level) as progress is made.

If you're looking for something original and very intence, you should pick up Bot Vice on Steam as soon as possible.
