Lickitung Raid Day with Shiny Lickitung added to the game

Today the Lickitung Raid Day took place as part of the ongoing Valentine's Day event. This is an event like any other Raid Day where we get up to five additional free Raid Passes by spinning the Photodisc of any Gym or opening a Gym with a Raid active there. All Gyms host this Raid Boss as a level 4 boss for the duration of 3 hours. Even on Gyms that already sent out EX-Raid invites, as recently those Gyms kept getting Raids on them. Which is pretty strange and also makes it harder to remember on which ones you should still do a Raid to have a chance for an invite in the next wave of invites. At least it is nice though so those Gyms aren't excluded to having Raids for like a week.

With this Raid Day, Shiny Lickitung has been added to the game and it's also possible to get Shiny Lickilicky now by evolving it. The Valentine's Day quest to Hatch 3 Eggs gives Lickitung as an encounter, since today with the start of the Raid Day the Lickitung from that encounter also has a chance of being Shiny. All Lickitung from this Raid Day will have the Charged Attack Body Slam. Evolving them into Lickilicky during the event, or the day, also taught them Body Slam. I'm not sure if it applied to any Lickitung evolved into Lickilicky or just the ones who already had it from the Raids. I haven't tested this out myself.

In our raids group we made two groups, because some people wanted to do some raids in the city center and others wanted to do some at another place in the city depending on most convenient for them to go to. We started at the Houten Schip Gym as that's where we usually start. Then we went to the Werft, the PC and then the Wood Tree Sculpture in the local park. After that Raid, four of us split off to go catch a Chansey before it would despawn and go do the Raid in the shopping street. The others would also do that one, but most of them were likely going to stop after two more and as we still wanted to continue a bit more. After the shopping street we went a bit further away to 3 Gyms quite close to one another, then to another playground and finally to the market square to do one more Raid. This put us at 10 Raids done in total, except for one guy as he had no option to buy coins and he only had coins to buy one more Raid pass when he ran out of the free ones.

In these Raids I have been quite lucky. At like the 5th Raid I encountered a Shiny Lickitung ! When we were at the Gym I caught my 100% Rayquaza at during a Raid Hour I was talking about it, and then on the Raid at the next Gym I saw the Lickitung at 806 CP. Knowing one person at the first Raid had one with 802 CP that was a 96% IV one I figured mine would have a shot being 100%, I appraised it and indeed I got a 100% Lickitung ! :D

I have never evolved Lickitung before since it became available, as you can notice on the picture with the Lickilicky silhouette on the evolve button instead of it being coloured in.

First I did some trading of the worst Lickitung that I caught today, to see if we could get any better ones and if we'd be lucky with getting a Lucky Lickitung. Unfortunately this didn't happen with the ones we traded. I even traded two extra Lickitung that I still had from longer ago. So now with still some time left for the Raid Day I decided to evolve one into Lickilicky, for which I chose the 100% that I got from one of the Raids today. Unfortunately I clicked wrong to screenshot the Pokédex registry so only part of the evolution process is in the next picture. But as you could've seen in the previous picture, I didn't evolve one into Lickilicky yet so it is a new Pokédex registry. As you see, it has Body Slam as well.

Here is a picture of the Lickitung I have new after this event. The Lickilicky, Lickitung and Shiny Lickitung on the top row caught today from Raids as I traded the others from today's Raids away. The other ones are some I still have in my storage from longer ago to possible trade. The 87% Lickitung used to be my highest IV Lickitung for quite some time, until today.
