Level 43 - Friendship Day event on April 24

This week I reached level 43. It was quite fast to reach this level as I mentioned before in the post when I hit level 42. The Charged Attacks requirement went really well, the highest contribution to it was definitely the Landorus Raids that I've done. Minor part was from Gym Battles and GO Battle League, as I barely fought in GO Battle League since hitting level 42. Collecting the Stardust went steadily over the days when I had time to play.

Now for level 44 I still have enough experience to hit it, but then I won't have enough experience yet to continue to level 45. The requirement for level 44 are focused on the PvP aspect of the game as you have to win 30 times in all 3 of the different Leagues and also battle in the GO Battle League 20 times. I might wait for a friend to catch up in exp before I'll complete these, but we'll see as I kinda wanna start on the Team GO Rocket requirements for level 45.

Hitting level 43 also unlocked a Special Research called "Level 43 Challenge", which wasn't the case with the other levels. I have to Power up Pokémon 43 times, catch 430 Pokémon and Hatch 14 Eggs. You can see this in the next screenshot.

This Saturday, April 24 from 11 am through 2 pm local time the first ever Friendship Day event will take place. We've had events before that focus on Friendship, but those were never for one day. With this event more Grass-type Pokémon will be appearing in the wild. Some Pokémon that are currently spawning more with the Sustainability Week event that are Grass-type should remain in higher spawns too.

There is going to be a Friendship Day Collection Challenge, and finishing it before the end of the event will reward with 175,000 XP!

Trading Pokémon with a friend will have an increased chance of being Lucky. This trade bonus will remain active even after the event is over, until 5 pm local time. During the event the trade distance will be increased to 40 km. There was no mention whether this trade distance will remain active until 2 pm or 5 pm, so for a Lucky Trade I'm definitely taking advantage of the distance before 2 pm to be sure.

Other bonuses active during the event will be a 3x Catch XP bonus. Incense activated during the event will last for 3 hours, and this time event Lures activated during the event will remain active for 3 hours!
