The Adventure of Dai (Dai no Daibouken) was one of the first anime I watch in my life, probably the first ever to watch few episodes in row. So I was ecstatic to see the news of its return. Especially when the anime didn't adapt the full story in the 90s.
The story follows Dai, a boy raised by monsters in an isolated island. He encounters the hero who saved the world and becomes his apprentice. The villains find and kills the said mentor and Dai, awakening his hidden power, has to go on a journey to save the world from the Evil!
The anime is known for its creative use for the Dragon Quest desing and soundtrack. The creator of the manga has an artstyle that's very similar to Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball and the designer of the main Dragon Quest titles.
The anime is set to return in 2020 and a game is announced in production. You can watch the teaser below:
For a fan of Dragon Quest games and Dai's story, I love this news and I can't stop think about how they will go about it. Will the game be Dragon Quest XII? Will it be a spinoff? I think it'll be a good traditional RPG especially after the amazing work the developers did in Dragon Quest XI (which I have yet to play.)
As long as they make it an enjoyable experience, I don't mind what gameplay system Dai Adventure will use!
And finally I'll get to see the return of the anime and hopefully the parts of the story that wasn't adapted until now will be in the new version.
