Freewrite Monday: Moans and Groans
Today’s post is a bit of a moan because today has been like that, and I’m in a grumpy mood right now.
Monday is the worst day of the week, especially for the working population, so I'm going to start 'Freewrite Monday'; get it all out and do some whinging.
Free writing is what @anomadsoul does best; spilling out whatever comes into your head first.
I thought by now I would be working.
Christmas is but a memory and the fat bosses should be back at work and looking for people to work on their Windows 10 upgrade projects, but so far opportunities have been thin on the ground.
Last week I was put forward for a gig in Manchester but have not heard a thing.
‘Oooohhhh… you are the ideal candidate for this one’, exclaimed the pimp excitedly when I reacted to a certain jobserve ad.
’Right.., so why am I getting deafening silence back’, I’m muttering right now after waiting for several days.
I’m sure some of these ‘jobs’ are made up, that or the boss at this place knows who am I and won't interview me for personal reasons.
Not that I burn bridges, ever. As a contractor, you can't do that.
No matter, I can survive a little while longer before having to traipse down to the dole queue and sign on. It’s not something I’m looking forward to but I will do it.
I have been playing Holybread with some addiction, even though there is not much of a game to play, yet.
Earlier I clicked the premium option, though I had no intention of doing so.
Has that ever happened to you?
I was annoyed at the time but have now bitten the bullet and conceded that I just lost 56 STEEM or so. This game had better work out, that's all I can say.
Those Breadcrumbs are not worth much after the buyback on Sunday. Do I sell them cheap or hoard them until next Sunday?
Earlier I went to the local barbershop for a haircut. The problem with this particular barber is that she opens only when she likes.
It’s all good and well having an opening times board in your window and then having a contradictory one next to it.
I should really call and say, 'Hello Mrs. Barber are you open today', but then I may get the, 'was it you calling to see if we were open', during my visit.
And what can I say to that?
‘Well you're never fucking open when I drive down here’
No…, that wouldn’t go down too well.
I would have thought that after 5 years of having my hair cut at the same barbershop, shorn away by the same barber that she would know what cut I want?
But no, every time I sit in that chair, its’, ‘what will it be today’
I could time it to the second and have often thought of growling..., 'a number three please' before the question is popped.
But that’s not all.
‘Square or Tapered’ is always next.
How many years do I have to go there for the question to become a questionable statement?
‘Number three today?’, followed by ‘Tapered neck?’ would confirm that there is a glimmer of a spark of recognition and she knows I’m not just some fucking bum from the street going in for a solo cut.
Alright... that's enough.., I’ll stop.

Not working is driving me a little mad, you will need to educate me on how to survive. It doesn't feel quite right sitting around all day.
We will see, there's a lot of plans to put more into it. I have to be optimistic.
Oh I do work you know, but I can sit around for ages too, although I think it might be a genetic talent.
I know, but not in the conventional sense. I too have been trying to make money every day, but it's not in the same league as a contract rate.
I think I'm actually done earning proper money, I'm getting kind of desperate to get my house rented out and to go and live without FIAT as far as possible!
Kind of like on those Alaska programmes, except somewhere quite a lot warmer.
If I saw an advert for 'Castaway 2020' I'd apply. Or I guess that'd be for Castaway 2021.
I can quite see myself as the next Ben Fogle.

The sheer amount of time we waste getting to work and then getting back always pisses me off. WFH is getting there, but this always in the office lark just gets on my tits.
If I can deliver, what's the difference?

Monday's do stuck that is why you should go permie and drop a four day week!!!
I could have been a little harsh, but there is no sense of personal attention after years which I find strange. I go there as she does my hair in 5 minutes, I mean it's quick.. and cheap too!
They never remember anyone. It's like they go on a robotic autopilot. It's theyou going on any holidays question that always gets me. I'm like yeah, I told you last month!
There's an instinctual habit of chatting to the customers about the weather/holidays/going out tonight?
...'do I look 19 and like I go to the pub every night followed by a club?'...
I feel like a boring old bastard saying.., 'er no... staying in tonight'..
Here I go again... don't get me started!
Well tomorrow should be terrific Tuesday and things will be much better for you. You should just get a haircut like mine. I do it myself every week at home. No cost at all except when I first purchased the clippers!
I can see from your selfies that haircuts would not be on the agenda too often!

That's freewrite for you! The days are becoming all one, weekends are like weekdays. It doesn't feel right somehow.
I had a week off and the time seemed to fly by. Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped.
I am of the working class and feel you pain. I have also been victim to interviewing for a job that was already given away log before interviews started. Complete waste of my valuable time. You can just tell with the questions they ask and the time spend interviewing. I see those wacky "I make up my own hours" from mom and pop places that just don't care. maybe I don't feel like working today.. Poor Slobberchops has to now look like a bum :-/ I hear ya though.. It's hard to break a routine sometimes. Face it, Your addicted to Fallaz!

I think I may have been to at least one of these, I have walked on at least one stating, 'this is a waste of time' as well.
Always good, I wonder if that barber will be open tomorrow? Any old reason NOT to open.. some of the excuses I have seen pinned to that door.. heh..
I once knew a small hardware store owner that always put out a sign that said “at a funeral, be back tomorrow”. Really? Of all excuses. And they used that same old sign with a coffee stain, over and over. Wow. Their friends and family have bad luck. Or they like going to funerals like I would go to the movies. Hmmmm. Now I’m thinking. Maybe they were funeral crashers 🤣

during a job search many years ago I was inundated with bogus job offers that turned out to be multi-level-marketing schemes. I got so tired of them that I actually started threatening people on the phone before going in for an interview - because it wasn't an actual job and they hired anyone who came in. grrrrrr

My goodness! It sounds like you had a really Mondayish Monday indeed! Cannot say mine was very grand either but thankfully it is currently Terrific Tuesday hehe :)
Your barber sounds terribly confused LOL! Perhaps she has split personalities and different ones made different signs.... one of them clearly doesn't want to do Mondays! hehe!
