I won the Steem Power Up Day7 contest a few days back and got the pompous top slot. Some kind sponsors have delegated me brobdingnagian steem power gift to play here now. It was obviously better than my awful boss's pat on the back after achieving sales target. I was very happy to look at my unanticipated steem power and could not hide my jackass grin from the people around. Steemitboard bot congratulated me in my recent post for raising the level and being a 'minnow' now. I wondered what was I before that? I googled to know that most probably I was a 'red fish' before that. People call the newbies by that name here. This platform is a bit complicated. The power of the steemit classification is measured in vests. Whatever! Level up is honey. My posts might get better visibility now. It was a joy to behold. Although I joined steemit in the beginning of 2018, I was not very active and wrote infrequently. Writing is quite experimental for me and I really do not know why I display my obtuse writing skill to the world . Sometimes it is burden to know every course of action.
Week days are hectic for me due to my professional schedule. I prefer to write when I am a but less occupied. My wisest friend used to tell that 'free time' was an 'oxymoron'. My judgemental skill is extremely poor to understand whether I have free time or not. But I like weekends as I can sleep well at least and can do something as per my will. Often weekend is the time when I unleash my 'blabbering of mind' series, which invites mixed reaction from the steemians.
I used 'blogspot' long back. Shook my ass with 'medium' too. Steemit is comparatively very new platform. I arrived here as per suggestion of my wisest friend. He dumped 'medium' for 'steemit' and went for hybernation after a short stinct here. I whatsapped him to inform about me being a 'minnow'. He reluctantly congratulated me for my latest wave in the steemit ocean. I came to know that he was a 'dead fish' now.
After dinner, generally I spend some time with steemit everyday. Thanks to 'partiko' and 'esteem' mobile apps, which were discovered by me in google playstore sometimes back when I had nothing to do. These are my surfboards now. Normally I surf fast. Only I stop upon some interesting words and visit selected tags. 'Orcas' and 'whales' are popular people here. My wisest friend told me to follow them. He already warned me "dude, you're gonna be dead without their support". But how do I keep a 'whale' happy? Goddamned baffling task!
Life is tough here. My posts do not earn much. I just saw someone's 'Actifit' report card to earn 4$ here. I was being tempted to try that app. But I understood that she was a powerpuff lady here with thousands of followers. I never liked biology in my student life but I liked the white bearded Mr. Darwin's photo. Our biology teacher always became super excited to explain that old man's great 'survival of the fittest' theory of natural selection. I again whatsapped my wisest friend for his exclusive guidance. But this time, he ignored my text after reading it. Need to swim alone now! I am gonna post my next gibberish post before I sleep tonight. The professional downvoters will be ready too. This is minnow life!

Hello @paragism Hang in there... write from the heart. It does even have to be long, it can a picture with some words too. I mixed it up and have even changed the format of my posts. The main thing here really is consistency.
Understand that people who curate or upvote, are also looking to gain Steem coin (crypto) for those up votes... so if you don't posts consistently, those up votes won't come because they see it as not making money for those up votes.
I hope that helps.
ps. I apologize that I wasn't more supportive of your blog after you won... it is hard to keep with the crypto world, as well as blogging on Steem and working and daily life. I hope you aren't discouraged. Oh, and interaction with others here is important. It too takes being consistent and finding those that also interact back. Anyhow, good luck, take care.
