Day 732: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: gut feeling

For someone like me, that truly believes in getting that gut feeling you would think I would listen to it more than I do. I can not count the times that I have followed it and have been rewarded. Several years ago I was wishing we had a computer but we did not have the money to buy one, I think this was in the 1990s. I got the gut feeling to go to the Main st thrift store. All-day something kept nagging at me, so before going home I stopped there. They had a computer keyboard and monitor for 25 dollars, I bought it. Neither of us had ever been on a computer so we had no idea what to do with it. What we did have are teenage kids. First I found out the computer was locked, it would not let us start it up, no problem we have teenagers. Our Son unlocked it for us. Our daughter spent countless hours teaching us how to use it.

In fishing, I have had this gut feeling to go to a certain place and I have caught fish there if I do not follow the feeling I will hear of someone having a good catch where I should have been. Sometimes I have more than just the gut feeling, you will think this is weird but sometimes I see me fishing a place, it is like a vision or daydream, I will be sitting at home in my chair just thinking and all the sudden I am on the river catching fish, it is like I am there watching myself.

I had one of these daydreams/visions while I was driving to Round Island to fish. I could see myself fishing on a flat at the mouth of Round Island. I do not know how I can drive and be on the river at the same time but that is what it feels like. I did not listen to my gut and went elsewhere to fish but caught nothing, finally, I tried the place that I saw me fishing at and that is where I caught them. I know that is crazy but that is what happened.

Today I was high boat for the entire fish house with 13 pounds of pompano. They are not here yet, we need what I hate, cold weather to push them down here.

I stayed late because it is going to blow tomorrow. I was on my way to the boat ramp and saw these old buzzards, I call them old because they were already roosting at 5:30.
