"No. Cow." - a five-minute #freewrite

Previously

If she knew that maniac, and she did, all too well, there'd be a bovine in the house before week's end. Perhaps month's end if he waited for her to forget this little conversation.

She narrowed her eyes and took a deep mouthful of freshly brewed coffee. There would be no forgetting.

Part One - It All Began With a Knitting Needle - prompt: knitting needle

Part Two - Coffee is Required - prompt: coffee mug

The trusty desk calendar upon the counter beckoned her over. Cradling the coffee mug in both hands, Jenny indulged in one last mouthful of the delicious elixir and carefully placed it in the centre of the table where no mishaps could happen to it, then grabbed a big black marker.

"No cow."

"No cow."

"NO. COW."

She jotted the same two words into every square of every month for the entire year of the calendar until it was completely filled in.

There would be no possible way she could forget now. It wouldn't stop Joey from purchasing a cow but it would stop her from forgetting. She would not be taken by surprise. Unless it arrived at three in the morning and he paraded into her bedroom riding it while wearing a purple pimp hat, or something. She smirked.

Flipping back through the calendar pages, Jenny returned it to the current month and day and paused.

Written in her neat handwriting, tidily jotted above the hastily scrawled, "No cow," was an interview for half an hour from now. She was still in her pyjamas. Her hair was unbrushed. She had a coffee mustache!

"Oh, crap," she yelped and leapt for the bathroom.

She had to hurry. With any luck, this interview was her ticket out of living with this ginger madman and it was imperative she aced it.

Imperative.

Hullo! It's Day 808 of @mariannewest's five-minute #freewrite challenge! The prompt for today is -- desk calendar -- and this is what I came up with before the eggtimer website beeped at me, give a few extra minutes for a quick tidy up.

Unfortunately for her, she can never escape. I won't have anything to write about! Haha! :D

And no worries :) I sorted through my delegations the other day and did a bit of rearranging. More power for the Freewrite House!! :D

@kaelci - loved it! NO COW! Not something I'd be likely to forget, lol. I have a nice vision now of the ginger pimp-rider!

Haha! With all the things that go on in poor Jenny's life via the Madness of Joey, she'd be hard-pressed to remember specific worries. Best to write it down. NO COW!!! :D

The cow-rider with a mop of ginger curls, yelling, "YEEHAW!" while whipping around a purple pimp hat, rearing the beast up on its hindlegs like a horse, and then galloping through the wall at breakneck speed, shattering it... there are frightened moos in the distance as Jenny sits upright in bed, bleary-eyed, and blinks away what she thinks is a dream. Wrong. With Joey around it is never a dream.

Hehe!

Haha! Thanks :D Joey and Jenny are a pair of my favourite characters; they help release pent up frustrations. I'm very Jenny in a Joey world, haha! No cows yet though. ... yet...

I'm trying to write these every day, but we'll see how that goes. :) Past experience tells me I start to taper off at around part ten or so... but I try! :D

They do seem lovely in a misfit and twisted way!

Maybe it will help to stop counting so that you'll never know that you passed the tenth part :)
