I used to have toothache back then. It is such a torment for me because the pain is excruciating that I can't hardly function during those moments.

I don't have that access to pain relievers then, but I did try Biogesic or other paracetamol. But there remains slight pain.

It can wake me up at dawn, that I can't sleep anymore. At daytime, I tend to stay in bed, but I also cannot sleep.

Merely brushing the teeth cannot help in some instances. I tried salt rinse which helped a bit.

Taking care of our oral health is necessary. I admit being a kid, I used to be lazy to brush my teeth. But it will be an expense to poor oral health, and even overall. I knew someone who just died because of mouth ulcer acquired from decayed tooth. Eventually, the mouth ulcer turned to cancer. After few months, she passed away. Thus, we should pay attention to oral health.
