Keeping It Straight (5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

Emma and Elijah met in the university as the former auditioned in the Glee Club, where Elijah is a part of. They always got together sharing each others' preferences, and their goals in life. They eventually fell in love to each other.

Emma's family loves Elijah, the same goes with Elijah's family towards Emma. It seems like they are fit to each other. However, as time goes by, their relationship is going rocky. Since Elijah has some attitude which is off-putting to Emma, she always raise those issues which annoys Elijah.

Instead of talking about their differences, in an instance, Elijah bursted out without thinking. Emma has been keeping it straight how she feels about Elijah, which is the reason of his burst out. Finally, he decided to break up with Emma, which caused the latter's depression.

She tried to reconcile with him through calls and messages, however, it seems Elijah is enjoying his single life. At one moment, they bumped to each other, and Emma apologized to him asking for another chance, but he declined.

Emma got tired of chasing Elijah, she decided to give up. Her depression even got worse. Her family has been worried. Then there goes Ethan who saw Emma while walking on the mall. She actually stepped in a slippery floor, and almost fell down until Ethan got to catch her.

The two got together, and eventually became sweethearts. At first, Emma is skeptical because of her past relationship with Elijah. However, Elijah assured her he won't break her heart. They really loved each other. In the end, Emma has forgotten about Elijah.

Elijah's life is dwindling. He misses Emma, and tried to reach out to her but she changed her number, and blocked him in social media. He went to their house, but her family pretends no one is around.

Elijah saw Emma in a parking lot. He is pleading to give him a chance. Emma asked him what he did he do when she's asking for a chance. She told him to find someone new, because she is in love with the person who brought her heart to life.

After three years, Emma and Ethan are happily married. Elijah is still single. He still loves Emma, but he won't do anything to break the couple's marriage. For Elijah, first love never dies. For Emma, first love can die if it was killed by the person you fell in love with.
