Smack on the ass - 5 Minute Freewrite
Yesterday's Day 860: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: barn door provided by @mariannewest. I had attempted to do my freewrite in the morning but kept getting waylaid and then crisis happened so I did not have the ability or will power to do it last night. I caught up this morning though so here it is.
The feeling is unmistakable and can be anywhere between abrupt and slow and drawn out. You know it happens always in hind sight, upon reflection of the prior moments or days. Many people find themselves in a position with no awareness of how they got there and sometimes have no clue what has even happened. There is the saying “don’t burn bridges” which comes close but that can be seen before hand, you can see the flames starting up in front of you and all around you and have the opportunity to extinguish them. This is much more out of sight, something that you become aware of or feel after the fact. Now maybe with a slight awareness you will be ready for when the barn door closes and smacks you in the ass.
