Happy Monday, after a not so happy weekend!

Current mood shown above, but that wasn't the case during the weekend...

Normally, when Friday arrives my first thought in the morning (after coffee that is) is usually: it's almost WEEKEND!!! :) Not last Friday though, I woke up feeling like crap, and expected it to be caused by the colder night making my back hurt. Then my daughter also decided to sleep in and really wasn't that cooperating to get up and get ready for school. Snotty nose and coughing made me anxious for the next days. If only she'd be able to complete this day, she'd finally have 2 weeks of preschool on her name, without any days ill at home. Luckily, there was no resistance going to school, and I dropped her off feeling like crap myself. Standing on the subway stairs made me super naussia again, so I decided to get myself home asap, start doing some tasks and then make sure I didn't need to do anything later on anymore. Except for picking my child up lol.

After 15 minutes staring at my screen like a zombie, I felt that I was starting to get a fever, so instead I watched netflix on the couch with 2 blankets on top of me still feeling cold. I set a few alarms just to make sure I didn't fall into a deep sleep, leaving my daughter waiting for me.

I always feel so sorry for her when daddy's working and I'm ill

Leaving her without much attention. Of course I make sure she gets her lunch, drinks and help her when she needs to go to the toilet, but for the rest don't count on me for entertainment hehe. The upside is, that usually when I feel like this with a fever, it lasts 1, or 2 days tops and then I'm all good to go again. But it still always feel like being a bad parent, as she has to entertain herself, but I must say she's always being so sweet to me when I'm home alone with her feeling ill. Little angel! Then daddy was home and she made sure on Saturday he would make up for the time I couldn't give her on Friday (sorry dad lol).

I expected the little lady to get ill over the weekend as well

Luckily, that didn't happen! She's at preschool, and I'm trying to get some things done as I missed like 2 days of tasks that I had to do. Which sucks, but what can I do? I have some tasks like 80% done, but really want to finish those somewhere today. Luckily I don't need to worry about cleaning up the mess that was building up during the weekend, as boyfriend is at home all week and promised to take care of that today. I can just focus on my things and pick up the little lady in an hour (oops time flies lol).

But first we are going to visit a nice (at least it seems nice looking at the website) vegan restaurant to have a coffee and cake / pie this afternoon. And when the little lady will be sleeping tonight I will push myself to finish my review about Andrea Bocelli. Enough to do today, but at least it's an extra fun week with boyfriend at home. I'm trying to find some nice things to do for this week next to the work that needs to be done this week.

Sometimes weekends don't go to plan, but they're still weekends which means they're better than working days. I think so anyway.

All the best.

You're right, only I have to honour the weekends a bit more as non working time (or little as possible) if I'm completely honest. Often I'm glad my full time working boyfriend is home during the weekends to keep the little girl busy for some hours while I write ... Thankfully, I find myself spending less time behind the laptop during the weekends the past couple of months :)

thanks for stopping by!

You're welcome, I try to seek out new and interesting people around here so you'll probably see me stop by again.

I will follow your example, because I also notice that I often stick to the same people. Not because I'm not interested in others, but just don't want to dig through the heeps of how to say this polite.. garbage? lol... You probably get what I mean. I often only find new people when doing some curation .. Have a nice day!

dig through the heaps of how to say this polite.. garbage?

I do this daily as I curate for @curangel, but there's gold hidden away sometimes and so I keep digging away. It's certainly not easy but if I can find just one person to comment and vote on then maybe my comment or vote will make a difference to them, encourage them.

I remember being a very small account and how amazing it felt to get the notice of a larger one so I keep digging.

Thanks for commenting. I always appreciate people's engagement.

True that! It's hard work sometimes though (my personal experience) .. but I also know that there is still a lot of great content out there..

Welcome, I used to engage a lot more, because I know.. engagement is key.. but often I just don't have the time or not logged in.. many reasons lol. But I told myself to start engaging more again, I miss having the interaction.. it's more rewarding than the votes imo..

Have a great day!

more rewarding than the votes

Exactly.

I remove the monetary value form things and just write content and engage as best I can. Makes it simpler and takes away the pressure.

Have a good day.
