my "End of November Meal"

So, I'd had these two pork cutlets frozen for some time now, I'd
Told @jaynie about how I will go to the section of the meat dept
Where they mark down selections that are about to go out of
Sell date range.
I took them out last night and after they'd thawed, put nothing
But Soy Sauce on them.
Then today I went back to the store.
IMG_20191130_143359.jpg
I bought 2 Poblano peppers, but only cleaned and cooked one,
Alongside these luscious 'shrooms.
IMG_20191130_143407.jpg
I looked up different ways to roast poblanos, waving them through
Flame would have been my preference, but alas, no can do here.
So both 'shrooms and peppers went into the cornbread pan, and
Into a 400° oven for 20 min.
IMG_20191130_143906.jpg
I've also had this wild and brown rice mix for several years. I love
It, but it is finicky to cook. There wasn't much left so I decided to
Remove it from my pantry.
IMG_20191130_144337.jpg
Brought water and butter to a boil, added this wee bit of salt
MVIMG_20191130_144401.jpg
IMG_20191130_144453.jpg
There was about ¼ cup of uncooked rice, so I let this come back to a boil.
Now here is a trick I learned a long time ago to keep your rice from boiling over every time you turn your back.
Mama (and others) would use a spoon to slightly prop open the pot lid.
I found this works admirably
IMG_20191130_144502.jpg
Cheap and disposable.
IMG_20191130_144644.jpg
IMG_20191130_144613.jpg
Heated my grill pan till it was smokin' slightly
IMG_20191130_144805.jpg
The oven method said to roast the peppers (and as you could
See I put the 'shrooms in with them) in a 400° oven for 15-20 min.
IMG_20191130_145535.jpg
Then take them out and cover to steam
IMG_20191130_145549.jpg
I added more butter to the pan with the 'shrooms and put it
Back in the oven (no photos for that, sorry, I was busy)

In the end, the skins didn't come off the peppers as I had hoped,
The wild rice blend was chewy, but tasty, and it all ended up in
The right place. My belly.

Thank you @fitinfun Sharon BUT
I was given to understand that :
This is Stacie D, co founder of Inner Blocks. It looks like the discord server is not the right place for you. Maybe in the future as our project progresses you might find something useful. Until then, we wish you the best. If you would like to be put on our "do not curate" list, please let me know. We do not wish for you to feel obligated in any way.
What am I missing here?

I have no idea, @jerrytsuseer. I was added as a curator a couple of weeks ago, and this is the extent of my knowledge. They gave you the upvote today, so you must not be on their "do not curate" list. I have not seen this message you show. I think you would need to ask Stacie D to clarify.

Hey @jerrytsuseer! I am The Yeti (@freedompoint) I am also co founder of @innerblocks with Stacie D. I was informed of everything that was happening with you, but I believe there has been a misunderstanding. Your previous posts were curated by our team because your content was found to be worth curating. Then you joined the discord and found that it was not a good fit for you. As you quoted above, Stacie D asked if you would like to be put on a do not curate list, but you never responded. There is no strings attached. There is nothing being asked of you. Inner Blocks generously finds and supports creators and content that reflect real life experience. You have to do nothing.

We support creators from around the world. All countries, languages, beliefs, cultures etc. This is a simple gesture to show support. If you continue to supported by @innerblocks, please inform us and we will remove your upvotes.

Thank you for this clarification @freedompoint. As I said to someone else
Just now, I do not mean to create any discord, and I really appreciate
The support. I know I can be abrasive and I know I have anger management
Issues, working on all of the above. PTSD doesn't go away easily. But,
As I said, I AM working on it.

Nice style... What an excellent menu!
And for the peppers; looks like they just needed a little more time in the oven (myself I leave them without time set, until the "whole" skin is kind of bubbling away).

Why thank you for the compliment @mondoshawan, I eat them raw quite often,
But the flavor is different when cooked, as you know.

When I was younger, and even now for the most part, it wasn't good for you to turn me loose in your garden, I would go grazing.
Nothing except okra and collard greens was safe from me, all manner of peppers, mustard greens, peas, squash, cucumber....they were all fair game, right there walking the rows.
My aunt would say "what about the bug poop or bird droppings? Shouldn't you wash them off first?"
Men have been eating bug and bird droppings for millenia and we're still here, its the pesticides and GMO Ecoli I worry more about now

I hear you and understand big time. Been kind of the same type of foodie since ever, bugs and all... hehe. And the way it goes with all the growing of our food makes me really sad.

Today I'm walking the woods for all you can eat, old and forgotten veggies all over the place, lucky me.

I just followed you, but can't find where you are from, or where this
woodsy Smorgaborg is in which you are indulging ha ha ha....
I saw something about "Onion Spur" but nothing happened when
I clicked on it.
I have a nephew back home who has started doing the
"Food you find in your area" thing big time, 'shrooms
And lately acorns to make flour. I wish I had known
More of this stuff when I was growing up.

Hehehe... yeah, Orion Spur is the position the milky way is in... Myself I live in Brittany France for now. Finisterre, which you can translate like "End of the World" for after there is only water until you reach Canada! :smirk:

I swear I thought it said ONION spur, but I wasn't looking THAT close.
I guess I like in "The Orion Spur" as well then, closer to Atlanta tho.
