Food Sharing #149 - Shun Tai Restaurant @ Bangkok, Thailand

Hi Everyone,

When we (@elizacheng & @livinguktaiwan) arrived at Ratchada Markets, first thing was to find something to eat. We need to make sure we have enough energy to walk through this giant market so we found Shun Tai as they had the famous Pork Rib. Other than pork ribs, there are all sorts of yummy food which we were craving for after a long day.

Let’s check out parts of the menu. They have both English and Chinese on the menu for tourists mainly from those regions. We ordered the medium pork ribs, (non spicy), stewed pork leg, morning glory and roselle tea with lots of ice. The food came quickly.

They gave us gloves to eat our pork so we don’t dirty our hands. We had a rib each and it was just delicious. Lots and lots of meat on the bone all cooked in a nice broth. The stewed pork had a nice combo of eggs, sour veggies and normal veggies. You can’t get a dish like this in Sydney at all. The veggie was much needed to balance out the two meat dishes. We also missed Asian veggies the last few days so it was a must need. The roselle tea was already my default when I order from a Thai restaurant. It’s great to keep the thirst away and it isn’t too sweet.

There is plenty of seating with two levels. Strong air conditioning was available inside which was a lifesaver from the heat outside. The staff can understand simple English but with a clear menu, meals could be ordered easily. We suspect these prices are more expensive than in the suburbs but this is right in the middle of the market with a nice interior setting, it is worth a try. The restaurant is on the left-hand side as you walk from the main entrance which is easy to find.
