Cooking with @fat-elvis - 2.5 lb steak!

This is a bit of a bummer... My smoker won't ignite 😭. So this had to happen using the gas grill.

Of course, served in pretentious fashion like a fancy steak house.

So it started like this.

Then I marinated the beast in sour cream.

3 hours in sour cream will make this steak super tender. The lactic enzymes break down the tissues. Just rinse it all off and it leaves no flavour behind!

Them coated with Montreal Steak Spice.

See that, it's a big ol' hunk of cow. Almost 2" thick as well.

Then on the grill

Once it had a nice sear, In goes my new toy, a Bluetooth meat thermometer. And moved to the non direct flame side to finish to an internal temperature of 130*F

Check this out.

Once it hit 130*F the phone started vibrating and making an alarm noise. Sweet!

Thanks for reading.

Bon Appetit.

Hmmm... I always cooked steak, never did I use sour cream! I will have to try that sometime! Thanks for sharing.

It really makes a soft steak. Just make sure to rinse it all off after, or it may be weird. My Brother says using plain yogurt works too.

Yeah, like Saver said, I've never heard of a sour cream marinade. I'll have to give it a shot this weekend. Thanks for the new BBQ tip.

Its the best tenderizing method I've found. Pineapple juice works better, amazing in fact, but it imparts flavour.

I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the heads up.
