Let's jump off the mountain!

Come and I will show you some amazing sights in this post.

We were on our way back home and when I entered the mountain pass, I saw some para-gliders above the mountain top.
So we sped up the pass and stopped at a famous look out spot. As luck would have it, the para-glider team launched from the peak above the look out spot and I was lucky to get these photos.

I think that the girls sitting at the right on the bridge wall here were the wives and the girlfriend of the gliders.

What a way to float so high up in the sky. If it was me, I would of course have my camera with me.

Here we had a twin performance coming over.

Some more guys were launching.

They call this the land of adventure and they were not wrong.

Look how they were floating above the mountain pass.

A closer look here as they missed the traffic.

Oh man, this is the life methinks, relaxing in the air.

Finally here is a view of the giant cross planted here in memory of those that died on this pass.

Like most of the other passes in South Africa, this is also a historic one with a fascinating history, as the original travellers had to dismantle their ox-wagons and pull the parts up with ropes to get over the mountain. Even the oxen were pulled up with ropes and then dropped slowly with the same ropes on the other side of the mountain, where everything was assembled again.

And nowadays we can fly over the mountain! What a change.

And That's All Friends!

Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.
