4,474 Reps From 9 Steemians After 11 Days - Join The Steem Daily 100 Rep Fitness Challenge Of 50 Push-ups & 50 Squats! - Day 12

12 days of reps for me so far with no excuses. I held my ground at 2:52 after 2:44 yesterday.

Let's grow this healthy community now by spreading the word and contributing some reps. This is for your health.

To people new, see the intro link below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.

What's the challenge? 50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. See my video. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just reach 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link, or video. We're on the honor system.

If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!

Highlights:

  • Good job to @khufu for 5 days in a row, doing 44 extra reps today.
  • @rmsbodybuilding and I haven't missed a day, just like last time!

My Reps:

After a late night packing boxes of inventory to bring to a storage unit, I hammered out my reps before bed. I really didn't want to do them, but once I got started, my competitive nature kicked in to try to beat my last time.

Time: 2:52.

Tonight's fuel was a Thai ground chicken dish out at a restaurant with a Thai iced tea. I also had two greek yogurts, orange juice, soy crisps (420 calories for the bag) and some natural potato chips after.

Net Participation: 9 Steemians from 7 countries for 4,474 reps!

To any interested Steemians who want more info/background: *Please see this link from the kickoff post for details.

Everyone please support and encourage the team here. They're working hard to build a community the hard way. It's about the bigger picture.

Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.

Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.

Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.

We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.

Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here and you will see and feel the results.

Rep on,
@steemmatt

P.S. - Please use the fitnesschallenge tag if you can.

Your time dropped pretty substantially. Well done. Another week or two and you'll be below 3:30.

Thanks, I think I pretty close to being able to do it daily as well.

I got mine in today. I've been really busy, so I spaced them out through the day.

5x10 squats and 5x10 pushups. I also did a set of 5 pullups every time I walked under the bar which I didn't keep a tally of, so maybe 50 or 60 pullups.

Man you walked under the bar a lot! That's a good strategy. I used to have a pull-up bar in the doorway of my old apartment's bathroom and got really into it for a few months. I did a ton of them, but my left forearm got tendinitis to make me stop to make sure it settled down for my baseball season then. Pull-ups are amazing. My current apartment doesn't have a doorway that's conducive for them, but I can at my gym.

I didn't expect to skip a day so soon. My legs were still pretty sore and I just wasn't up for it. Today I'm trying to make up for it. I planned on doing 100 squats today, so to make up for yesterday, I added 50 more.

Started at about 5:04 pm
1x20 and 3x10 air squats in 2 min 36 seconds
1x20 and 3x10 air squats in 2 min 14 seconds
1x20 and 3x10 air squats in 2 min 56 seconds

10 pushups in 36 seconds

Stopped at 5:30 pm

Then I took a break. Wasn't sure I'd finish the rest of my pushups, but I never did get back to it. I could be in much better shape had I not stopped working out daily but instead I've regressed. I'd like to be fit at least once in my life time and I'm certainly not getting any younger, so if I stop, someone needs to come beat me up or something.

Bad day for the pushups, but at least I got some reps done.
