This challenge is growing daily. If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!

Welcome @mamalikh13 for his first reps from Iran! He was very active in my first challenge back in the day, so I'm glad he's stayed on Steem to return for this new one.

Hats off again to @khufu for doing more partial reps as he rehabs from some injuries to ramp up for this.

To people new, see the intro link below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.

What's the challenge? 50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. See my video. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just get to 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link or video. We're on the honor system.

My Reps Today:

I wasn't nearly as sore as yesterday (progress), even doing my reps just after carrying a heavy box of recycled goods and a heavy quartzite countertop home on two separate trips.

This took me 4 mins and 35 seconds, a bit faster than the last two days. A few more sessions of fine tuning and I'll be cruising under 4 minutes. The last 20 push-ups that are slowing me down for now. I'm now feeling a good pump all day and eating more lean natural protein. I feel good after the reps and accomplished for sticking to the plan with this simple base routine.

Tonight's food was 1.1 pounds of ground chicken, some mixed nuts, a teaspoon of raw honey, and a banana. I'm going to be eating a lot of meat tomorrow at a small rooftop BBQ, so I'll get my calories then.

Here's the heavy countertop slap I carried home a while, after the heavy box full of stuff to salvage and resell. Needless to say, it got my forearms pumped up and my legs loose for the reps.

Net Participation: 6 Steemians from 5 countries for 1,510 reps!

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3

Day 4:

I'm nominating @coruscate from USA, @bitfiend again from USA, and @aussieninja again from USA/AUSTRALIA to get on board. The latter two can't hide for too long!!

-> *Please see this link from the kickoff post for details.

Everyone please support and encourage the team here. It's about the bigger picture.

Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.

Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.

Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.

We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.

Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here and you will see and feel the results.

Rep on,
@steemmatt

Time to go out and find more stuff to sell... my third trip out tonight.

P.S. - Please use the fitnesschallenge tag if you can.

Are those pushups getting any easier Matt?

I did 3 sets of 12 reps for squats and pushups today, I threw in a few sets of pullups too. So at this rate I should be good to go by Friday or Saturday.

Don't waste an upvote on me guys, I had my steempower delegated so I can't reciprocate for a few days until I get it back.

Push-ups not yet. Squats, yes. The first 25 are ok, but I struggle from 25-50, taking way too long. I think I'm making progress. I'm trying to go deep, which is maybe burning me out faster. I give myself a week more and I should be able to get through the first 35 easily. Part of it is also getting a little winded from the squats with little rest.

Your progress is inspiring! Really. I'm sure it's a good feeling to feel out your condition and realize that you're going to be able to rebuild.

Votes will still be incoming. It's not about returning them when you earn them.

HA!! This video is the best ever! That was very funny and entertaining, plus a lot of fun. Your son is one fast crawler. It's just the beginning for you and chasing him.

Hey man. I skipped on yesterday because of my exam and the soreness. I came back stronger today but I couldn't make video proof because there was no electricity and my battery was dead.
I, however, completed it for today being day 5. 50 air squats and 50 push ups. With only a little soreness this time

We know you did them. Well done. The soreness will fade and then you'll be able to hook up a generator to your body for upcoming reps and create electricity for the entire city for a year.

The tired body is stronger than brains running it- on the third set of push-ups the last free reps- the body takes over the body's owner. The squat is a disaster. But he have enough flexibility to do it correctly. people always perform squat correctly in their daily moves, but when you ask them to squat they try to invent a bicycle:)
