Pale Winter Sun
Here it is, the sun, our life line, gracing us with its presence for a few minutes, teasing us with its existence. We take what we can get and that's it, no way around it. Unless one moves several (read: 20 plus) latitudes down south.
This is the mid day sun, that's as far up it climbs before heading back below the horizon in a few hours. The upside of that is that the tone of the light is very flattering all day, golden hour is not an hour, more like 5 hours.
The lake is not frozen yet, aside from a paper thin layer of frost on the shores. We are gonna need at least a week of consecutive days of sub zero temperatures for the lake to freeze over. While I wish for more snow, I'd prefer some really cold temperatures first so the lake could freeze over without having snow messing up the clear surface, perfect for ice-skating.
City I live in is full of crazy biker people, who will bike all throughout the winter. Doesn't matter how slippery, snowy, wet or slushy it is, they'll be on their bikes, fucking weirdos. And it's always the government’s fault if the bike lanes are not in perfect condition for biking. Mother nature surely has nothing to do with the matter. Needless to say, I'm not a biker.
Great photos as always!
I just got done video chatting with @momone and @smallsteps and the sun is shining there! Been snowing though. Saw some images from their balcony, looks lovely all white and bright.
Hope you have a great day.
P.s. Been thinking of a new desktop photo for my work comp...Any good ones? You're my desktop photo guru you know. Legit.

Oh that is wonderful, the best thing about technology is the way it can connect family members who are literally on the other side of the globe.
Funnily enough, I thought of you and your desktop when I was out on this walk, but the conditions are not yet worthy of a new desktop photo. I'll see what I can do next weekend when I'll be in the countryside, a bit further up north.
Yeah, it is pretty cool, we were with small as she had some lunch and did some tricks. Then we went and played in her room with her (was doing some cooking on her toy stove). Was really nice. She's a funny little monkey. We videoed for over an hour.
I'm sure you'll take some great ones suitable for my desktop. I'll defer to your judgement and use whichever you choose. I'm good like that...Do what I'm told...Sometimes. 😈
Lovely photos! I remember my mental image of Finland being as cold as I can see in the bicycle picture. Never been there but love your musicians, from the metal genre. Just like how the middle east is rich in oil, you guys have the most talented metal musicians.
We have about 70 metal bands per 100,000 capita according to this source. You could say that Finland is the heaviest country in the world. One thing to be proud of as a Finn, haha.
I think Finnish metal bands have more Asian fans than Finnish fans :D
🤣 🤣 🤣
I bike to work even in winter if I can... fortunately Portugal, in the place I live, has better biking conditions than those!
PS. great photos!
I assume not much snow or ice :D
And you assume correctly! 😉 Truth be told, I've already seen snow near Lisboa... but it's really rare!
I'm one of those weirdos.
I know you are :D
You know me well :D
Winter is really the bringer of light, solstice on, days will be longer
Cool... you have lot cold there 😋👌 here was start cold come now also.. nights are back -5 😁👌💪 soon big snow start come.
A city of cyclists. It probably has very much to do with the very large proportion of students of the population. Lots of young and thus relatively fit people equals lots of cyclists.
Lovely not any here yet but we are close very close! My bike is away now for the winter back to the train. You skating it this year 💯🐒
You gotta move south,,,, way to cold where you are..... :-)
