Margaret Keane: “This is what it’s come to, huh? You are the only living soul I can tell my secret to. I painted every single one of them, every Big Eye, me, and no one will ever know but you.”

The film "Big Eyes" is the story of a woman who wants to create a market for her paintings. In my opinion, from a psychological point of view the reason behind painting big eyes is her inner conflicts and also her daughter who was often the subjects of the paintings. Margaret and her daughter both need recognition. Margaret needs recognition for her paintings from outside world and her daughter needs her mother's affection.
