The Rest of Us (2020) – Movie Trailer

The movie The Rest of Us was planned to be released las year, but it was postponed to this February. However, it had a premiere in Canada past September at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was nominated for the Best Canadian Feature Film, but the winner was the movie Antigone (2019). The movie The Rest of Us is a drama with a lot of mixed feelings between 2 woman and their daughters.

The movie follows two mother-daughter duos. One of them has lost her husband, and at the same time, it was the ex-husband of the other woman. In some weird circumstances, they decide to live together along with their daughters… Connected by the loss of a dear person, they create connections between each other in a complicated rollercoaster of emotions.

The movie is directed by Aisling Chin-Yee, a known producer of movies like Rhymes for Young Ghouls (2013), Synesthesia (2017), or TV Series Lost Generation (2017). This is her full-length movie in a director's chair. The screenplay is written by Alanna Francis and the story is edited by Mark Van de Ven.

In the main roles are Heather Graham (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), Boogie Nights (1997), Bowfinger (1999)), Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief (2013), Pawn Sacrifice (2014), Monsieur Lazhar (2011)), Abigail Pniowsky (Arrival (2016), TV Series Ten Days in the Valley (2017), Channel Zero (2016-2017)), Jodi Balfour (TV Series The Crown (2017), Quarry (2016), True Detective (2019)) and others.
