Ride Like a Girl (2020) – Movie Trailer
Two days ago I have posted a review/trailer of the movie Dream Horse (2020) and let’s similarly continue today with another movie with horses as protagonists… The movie Ride Like a Girl comes from the Village Roadshow distribution company and with a help in funding by Screen Australia in a production of the movie. And just as a curiosity, yesterday I was published a post from another Australian movie, High Ground.
The story follows ups and downs of Michelle Payne, who was the first female jockey to win the world-famous Melbourne Cup. A lot of struggles during her life, falls and injuries, but she succeeded to win all the problems and with a strong will reach her goal…
The director of the movie is Academy Award nominee Rachel Griffiths, a well-known Australian actress, producer, writer by movies like Muriel's Wedding (1994), The Rookie (2002), or TV Series Six Feet Under (2001-2005). The movie is written by BAFTA Award nominee Andrew Knight (Hacksaw Ridge (2016), The Water Diviner (2014)) and Elise McCredie (Sunshine (2017), Strange Fits of Passion (1999)).
In the main roles are Teresa Palmer (Lights Out (2016), I Am Number Four (2011), Warm Bodies (2013)), triple times Golden Globe nominee Sam Neill (Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), Jurassic Park (1993), The Piano (1993)), Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise of an Empire (2014), Animal Kingdom (2010), Gangster Squad (2013)), Brooke Satchwell (TV Series Neighbours (1996-2000), Water Rats (2000-2001), Subdivision (2009)), Genevieve Morris (TV Series No Activity (2015-2018), Comedy Inc. (2003-2006), Circle of Lies (2012)) and others.
