She was married three times: Warren Clark(married 1949) but he died in 1964; Raymon Ploetz(married 1978-annulled 1986); John J. Conheeney(married 1996) but he died in 2018.

When she met her first husband, she started to write a short stories for magazines. When her husband died, she sold her jewelry to pay bills because she had five children.

Her first novel ,,Aspire to the Heavens" about George Washington and his wife Martha in 1960 didn't sell well.

In the 1975 she became a successful detective writer when she wrote detective novel "Where Are the Children?"

After the success she could redeem all the jewels she sold out. After that she wrote 39 novels excluding books she wrote with her daughter Carol Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke (in photo bellow is her daughter Carol Higgins Clark)

I have my own four books written by her-"Tu Priklausai Man" ("You Belong To Me"), "Kerštas" ("I've Got You Under My Skin"), "Vienui Viena" ("Al By Myself Alone") and "Dar Pasimatysim" ("I'll Be Seeing You"). I haven't still read "Vienui viena" and "Kerštas" but I've read "Tu Priklausai Man" and "Dar Pasimatysim". And I loved these detective novels as like many others and I think it are one of the best detective wrote by her.

I think her mystery novels would really appeal to many readers as I like her books.

I recently knew that in 2019 she wrote some new mystery novels and I hope that in near future it will be published in Lithuania.
