I have just uploaded the final edited copy to Amazon ready for September 12th when the book is officially released. It's over. I will never over-stress and over-edit this particular part of the series ever again.
It's taken nearly a decade. And I'm glad that it has. If I released this back then it would've been a terrible, terrible story with a Mary Sue main character, no conflict, nothing, just a wanton daydream laid bare. Over these long years I've refined my writing so much, have become a better author, and have finally done justice to a story that's so close to my heart.
Well, not completely; there are still three more parts of this tale to go, but it's all coming together perfectly. 😊❤️

Any self-published author knows that the world of self-publishing is a horrifying and heartless place. Indie authors compete with one another, shouting louder than the next so that their voice bellows greater than the rest, hoping against hope that just one reader will hear them and actually investigate their work, if only for a single second.
Most self-published authors only manage to sell to family and friends, and a lot of the time those family members and friends don't read what the author has poured their heart and soul into, assuming that the sale alone is all that's wanted or needed.

It was a dystopian YA novel. I'd have to rewrite everything! 😅 But who knows, maybe being here will inspire me to dig it up or write a new one.
Sometimes one of the best things is just leaving a written work sitting, gaining dust for a while, and then looking at it years later with new eyes. Or even just re-imagining it years later!

It is! Finallyyyyy! I've spent so long editing and re-editing and tweaking and modifying, then editing again, hahaha. It's so good to finally click the upload button, dust my hands off, and say, "Done!"
I'm sorry that you're unable to get a copy. I didn't realise til recently that some countries have issues with getting certain items from Amazon. And then I had my own issues with them too! If only they weren't such a big marketplace, I'd never go exclusive with them. At least it's only for a few months. 🙂

The most tedious work of creation for me was a documentary film I was working on for about a year and it drove me nearly nuts!
No worries, I would have gone with Amazon too, alternatives won't be really fruitful in the long run. And I guess it won't hurt to wait a few months.
