A December month filled with a Star Wars miracle.
I finally got Bianca to sit down and watch (the original) Star Wars with me.
She never wanted to see it because 'she wouldn't like it'. (this is a type of reasoning I will never understand...but have come to accept.)
But a small (pre -Christmas) miracle has unfolded in our household because this weekend we saw Star Wars (A New Hope).
...and...The Empire Strikes Back...
...and...Return of the Jedi...
...and we just finished Star Wars: The Phantom Menace tonight...
Talking about a great weekend!
I just decided to go with the historical order and take it from there.
It's interesting to see someone watch the original Star Wars movies and the prequels for the first time.
To see that epic story unfold and that first love for the characters being born.
She now has favorite characters...CPR3 (a couple more viewing and we will get it right), R2D2 and....Jar jar Binks (for some strange and unapparent reason she thinks he's sweet).
She also likes Chewbacca and Han Solo....but Luke is a twat...why? Because he didn't listen to Yoda.
Yup...one of the most important characters in Cinema History is twat......
But the best part, of course, is that she likes it. Thank god.
A small part of me would have been crushed if she didn't.
And even though the last one (The Phantom Menace) is her least favorite one so far (can't say anything about that because out of these 4 this is my least favorite one too) she still wants to see the rest and watch the story unfold more.

Two more movies to go of the prequel trilogy and then most likely we will rewatch all the new ones too (she has seen some of them) that because of the new historical background might be a little more fun.

CPR3! Lol. I'm glad you got her to watch all of them. The original Star Wars was one of the first films I saw in the theater as a child. Back then it was like nothing anyone had seen before. My brother and I had so many of the original action figures and ships, if only we would've had the foresight to keep them!
I wasn't even born when the films were made, lol.
Must have been something back in the day to see these films in the theater!
Jesus, does that make me feel old! It really was like something from the future when it came out. There were other films of this genre out there but the special effects couldn’t even compare.

I forgot to mention. I have my ticket for the next movie.
One of my vendors always books a complete theater for the early morning on openings of big movies. Coffee and popcorn, then back to work.
So wait she watched the newer ones but didn't want to see the originals incase she didn't like them? What would that do? Stop her liking the newer ones lol? I am confused by this also haha.
O no...not in case she didn't like em....her mind was already made up she would not like them.
Maybe she thought they would be too old to be fun. I don't know.
Just imagine Star Wars: The Force Awakens to be the first Star Wars you ever saw and someone asked you to watch the 1979 original movie instead. You might be reluctant I guess.
I saw the first one when it first came out. Saw it 7 times that summer (‘77) - in Colorado Springs, Denver, Honolulu, and Anaheim, CA :)
