Another Visit to the Friday Market

There are two big market days in Benalmadena. One on Wednesday at the car park beside the Parque La Paloma (Park of the Doves), and one on Friday at the Tivoli World car park in the town center, behind the train station. The one on Wednesday is a second hand good market. The one on Friday has everything from fruit and vegetables, candies, potteries, handbags, shoes, clothing, hats, potted plants.... Both are very popular with locals and tourists as one can find good bargains here.

I am not really looking to buy anything, nor am I a fan of crowds. But I am on holiday, and for want of something to do, and to give myself a different route of walking exercise, I thought I would have a stroll, a mingle with the crowd at the Friday market, and see if I can take in the feel of the atmosphere. Something different. Anyhow, holidays are coming to an end and this will most likely be my last visit to the market – for this year anyway.

I always have my phone camera with me when I go on my walks, so that I can take a picture of anything I find interesting. But with a busy market like this, you can constantly pointing the camera in somebody's face. Not very nice. So, I didn't take many pictures. Some of them didn't turn out well at all because they were furtive shots, plus with the bright sunshine, I can't see anything on the screen. Hence it's a quick point and shoot, and most didn't turn out well. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the market, some of which are from my earlier visit.

But, quotes-haven, I like your pictures. It is very nice here and soo many things! Don't you want to take any souvenirs with you?

People who know me know that I hate shopping and I am the worse shopper they will ever know. So, no souvenirs from me. 😊

Personally, I don't believe in souvenirs. They just add more to the junk. 😊

You wouldn't believe it, but I have a strawberry jam jar standing around as a souvenir. I once bought strawberry jam on holiday and thought to myself, hell, how does this jam taste :D. When I took a closer look, I read the big letters"Strawberry" and then disappearing small letters "with mint taste" :D. I was really amused :D, how can anyone taste that?

Strawberry jam with mint taste! hmm..
Did you use the jam? Or is the whole jar still intact? 😊

I actually only wanted strawberry jam, I didn't even notice the mint taste, because it was written in small letters and I didn't look very closely. This jam tasted so terrible at the first bite that I - which I never do - threw away the whole jam. Only the glass I still have as a souvenir :D

I don't blame you for throwing away the jam. Strawberry with mint - what a combination! So you kept the jar to remind you to always read the fine prints. 😀

No, I keep it as a souvenir because it was a funny experience and cheers me up when I see the glass :)
