Honestly, I didn't know what to think about the first photo. I thought it has something to do with batteries, lol. Why is it called battery park? Nevertheless, very interesting! However, the Sea Glass Carousel looks familiar. I think I saw it when I was in NY. It;s jsut we were so hurry and the first day was raining. Anyway, great shots!!!

I didnt know how it got its name so I looked it up and found this

The park and surrounding area is named for the artillery batteries that were built in the late 17th century to protect the settlement behind them.

I have never seen the carousel when it is running, the times i visited there with family and friends I never went by it

That's very interesting and it makes sense.

I don't remember much about that carousel, I just know walked by it.

And as an older guy on my own with a camera I stay away from playgrounds and carousels when kids are riding them I don't want to be called a dirty old man LOL
