Wednesday Walk: Got stuck at a shop in a shopping mall, ไปเดินสะดุดร้านที่ห้างสรรพสินค้า

This #wednesdaywalk was a reminiscence of my fond memory of a very nice shop I stumbled on by accident at a shopping mall last year. Things have changed so much, I did try to find that shop again but it did move away. All I have left were my photos of this shop! I should have made the best of that while it lasted! But I told myself I still had lots of time and I took it fur granted that the shop would be there any way.

I was quite surprised to see this very posh cake shop at a local shopping mall which was not considered as high end or luxurious. This was a Godiva coffee shop selling most exquisite cakes made with Godiva chocolate! The cakes looked very good and had been meticulously made with dedication. They reminded me of very delicious cakes I used to have at restaurants in five stars hotel; that was a nice treat during my friend’s birthday.

The atmosphere of the shopping mall was a bit quiet and sleepy but this Godiva shop gave me a big shot of excitement. I wondered why the management decided to open such a high end and expensive shop in a middle income range shopping area. So, this shop was selling the most expensive coffee and cakes in this large shopping complex. I had a good time taking photos; I eat with my eyes first! As I was in a hurry, I promised myself that I would come back for my treat.

วันนี้เราหวนคิดถึงร้านขายขนมเค็กที่ห้างสรรพสินค้าแถวบ้าน ตอนแรกเราก็เดินไปเรื่อยๆ โดยไม่คิดว่าจะมีอะไรน่าดูเป็นพิเศษ แต่เราก็บังเอิญไปเจอร้านขายกาแฟและเค็กของโกดีวา ซึ่งเป็นชื่อของช็อคโกแลตที่มีชื่อเสียง ว่าอร่อยและแพงมาก เราตื่นเต้นและแปลกใจมากที่มีร้านหรูมีระดับราคาแพงมาก มาเปิดอยู่ในห้าง ที่มีแต่ชนชั้นกลางมาช็อปได้อย่างไร เราได้โอกาสถ่ายรูปขนมเค็ก และดูราคาสุดหรู ยิ่งทำให้เราสงสัยว่าร้านนี้จะขายแข่งกับร้านอื่นๆที่มีราคาถูกกว่าสองถึงสามเท่าได้หรือ วันนั้นเราค่อนข้างรีบ จึงสัญญาดับตนเองว่า เราจะกลับมากินเค็กแสนน่าอร่อยที่นี่ในโอกาสหน้า เราคิดว่ายังไงร้านเค็กก็คงเปิดขายไปเรื่อยๆ

After about two months, I returned to the shopping center with the intention of having some nice Godiva chocolate cake. I was very much looking forwards to that piece of cake that I started thinking in advance how enjoyable the whole experience would be. So, I was thunder stuck to find the shop empty! I could hardly believe my eyes. Questions were popping up in my head and I wanted to yell out loud that life was not fair! That’s my good lesson for always postponing actions and often procrastinating too long. Good things come and go quite fast. So, I should not throw away my chance once it is right in front of me. Sometimes I think I do not deserve all the good things that happen to come my way. My hesitation and doubt have caused me a few regrets and hurt in the past. But I seem to be stuck still, perhaps I have a hidden fear to accept life’s blessings. Next time, I will make sure not to hesitate or procrastinate again in front of a Godiva coffee shop.

เรากลับไปที่ห้างนั้นอีกครั้งหลังจากประมาณสองเดือน เราเดินไปด้วยความตั้งใจที่จะสั่งเค็กมากินให้หายอยาก เราก็คิดวาดภาพและจินตนาการไปต่างๆนานา พอเราไปถึงที่ร้านเราก็ตกใจและแปลกใจมาก ร้านหายไปแล้วไม่มีร่องรอยว่าเคยมีร้านเค็กแสนหรูมาก่อน เราผิดหวังมาก นี่เป็นบทเรียนที่สอนเราอย่างดี ว่าของดีๆนั้น มันไม่ได้มีมาบ่อยๆ ดังนั้นถ้าเจอของดีที่ชอบมาก ก็อย่าลังเลใจและผลัดวันประกันพรุ่ง ให้กล้าคิดตัดสินใจอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง เราก็หวังว่าเราคงให้โอกาสตนเองเปลี่ยนวิธีคิดใหม่ อย่าไปติดยึดหรือกลัวการตัดสินใจตลอดจนผลกระทบมากเดินไป เราจึงควรจะฟังเสียงลึกไปในใจมากขึ้น
