Daily Pet Photography: the fruit lady adopted another kitten, คนขายผลไม้รับเลี้ยงลูกแมวตกยาก

The elderly Chinese lady,who has been looking after Goldie for twenty years, has recently adopted a tiny kitten who had been left by the corner of the road. I call her the fruit lady as she has a stall selling fruits in an alley near Robinson shopping mall. I first saw this tiny kitten three weeks ago. He was very skinny and looked rather sick. I did wonder if he would survive one more month as he had not been nursed by his mother and his skull looked a bit abnormal.

The fruit lady stays at her fruit stall all day so the tiny kitten would be spending his day sleeping on the table among the newspaper and calculator. She calls him Tiger and thinks the world of Tiger. She admired Tiger’s gentle character and sweetness. He seems very happy and secured there, in very small space among very tatty surrounding. This kitten lives in a poor person’s house but he is surrounded by lots of love. This lady had taken him to see the vet twice at her own expenses. She was worried whether his eyes could see properly. To her relief, Tiger can see normally but he is still malnourished.

I went to check out on Tiger a few times, I found him growing a little bigger. Sometimes he would be sleeping peacefully among the pikes of plastic plates or on newspaper. Most kittens I know have a more luxurious surroundings with more comfort and soft toys. But I do admire Tiger’s character. He is very quietly modest and accepting of his fate. He hardly has any voice when I asked him to reply to my questions. I think he knows I am his friend as he always allows me to pick him up. I just want to touch his body and give hone some Reiki healing. He responds to me by just laying still with soft purring movements. Then he would fall asleep.

คนขายผลไม้ที่เป็นคนดูแลเจ้าโกลดี้ มาประมาณยี่สิบปี เขาไปเก็บลูกแมวที่ถูกทิ้งมาเลี้ยงตัวหนึ่ง เขาเรียกมันว่าเจ้าเสือ ลูกแมวดูท่าทางแย่มาก เพราะไม่ได้กินนมแม่แมว มันผอมมากแต่ใจมันสู้เกลือเกิน คือมันไม่ยอมตายง่ายๆ มันอดทนต่อความเจ็บป่วยและความเดียวดาย คนขายผลไม้รักแมวตัวนี้มาก เขาพาไปหาหมอมาสองครั้งแล้ว หมอบอกว่าตาของแมวมองเห็นได้ปกติ เพียงแต่ว่ามันเป็นลูกแมวที่ไม่ค่อยสมบูรณ์ เราได้ไปเยี่ยมลูกแมวตัวนี้มาสามครั้งแล้ว เราคิดว่ามันจำเราได้แล้ว เพราะมันพยายามตอบคำถามเรา แต่เสียงมันค่อยมาก นอกจากนี้มันก็ยอมให้เราจับตัวยกออกมาจากที่นอนของมัน เราอยากจะลูบตัวมันเพื่อดูว่าร่างกายมันแข็งแรงเพียงใด เราคิดว่าลูกแมวตัวนี้โชคดีมากที่มีคนรับเลี้ยงมันอย่างเต็มใจ แม้ว่าบ้านที่มันอยู่จะไม่หรูหราหรือสบายเหมือนลูกแมวที่อยู่ตามบ้านคนรวย

เรามักจะเจอมันนอนอยู่บนโต๊ะที่มีข้าวของระเกะระกะ ลูกแมวจะนอนอยู่บนกระดาษหนังสือพิมพ์บ้าง นอนข้างกองจานบ้าง มันเป็นแมวที่อยู่ง่ายๆ และเล่นตัวเดียวได้ด้วย เราอยากเห็นมันมีความรื่นเริงมากขึ้น และหัดวิ่งเล่นส่งเสียงเหมือนลูกแมวทั่วไป เจ้าของร้านบอกเราว่า เจ้าโกลดี้ไม่ยอมกลับบ้าน เพราะมันเห็นเขามีลูกแมวตัวนี้มาอยู่ด้วย โกลดี้จึงงอนมาก นี่เหมือนแมวส้มของเราเลย ที่จำลูกตัวเองไม่ได้เลยย้ายไปอยู่บ้านถัดไป เราคงหาเวลาไปเยี่ยมเจ้าเสืออีก มันทำให้เราชื่นชมความอึดของมันมาก และมันได้รับความรักจากคนเลี้ยงมาก ทำให้มันเป็นแมวที่ใจดีและสุภาพมากด้วย

I hope to see this tiny kitten grow stronger and bigger soon. He has not yet been running around playing like other kittens at my friend’s house. I hope Tiger will hire up to be a fine cat with good health. His fate and patience have inspired me to look at his way of life and his will to survive against all odds.

I play with him and place him there; he just falls fast asleep !
