Why am I on the RoadtoSTEEMFest? Help me fund my trip!
I waited until after the fork to post this contest entry. I wanted to see how the newsteem paradigm would play out, and for me – it could be better. I reserve opinion for the ecosystem of STEEM. I think it is too early to tell.

Why I want to go to Bangkok
In my case, it is not a matter of wanting to go to Bangkok. I WILL be in Bangkok for those dates if I am not dead.
I live in Malaysia now on a tourist visa and need to leave this country each 90 days. By a miracle, my time to travel coincides with the date of STEEMFest. Bangkok is my cheapest option for a trip out of Malaysia, so I will be there.
Since I will be in Bangkok at the same time as STEEMFest, I want to attend it for these reasons:
- to meet STEEMers I have not met before who will also attend.
- to reconnect with STEEMers I HAVE met before who will also attend.
- To learn whatever it is that the conference has to teach me.
However, my financial situation is dire beyond needs for STEEMFest. I have been living off STEEM and STEEM related money since December 2017. I am in the Third World with a budget of about 500 usd per month but even so, this is not an easy road.

So I have two issues now.
- Making a living before STEEMFest
- Having the funds to attend STEEMFest.
I recently revised my steemfest budget and it is about 200 usd. How can it be so cheap? Go look, but in essence, I am:
- taking a cheap flight
- staying in a cheap hostel
- eating cheap street food
- not paying the conference fee
What? How can you go to STEEMFest and not pay the conference fee?
Well, I first pray I win the fee since I would very much like to attend. If some manner of financial miracle occurs, I will pay the fee on my own. But if I do not win it and the miracle fails to come through, I cannot afford it, so that is that.
I have some ideas of what I might do on those days while my friends are conferencing. So far a few other people have also posted about not being able to pay the fee while still attending, so maybe we will find a way to be together.

Why should you help me? Why do I think I am worthy of help?
I believe am an asset to the STEEM blockchain. My constant effort goes to helping redfish and minnows grow here.
