A picture has its story

it's not an elephant leg😂 it was mine!

Woooppsss...a week has passed again and I almost forgot to login to steemit😆 I was busy reading on webtoon again. When I finished reading 544 episodes of Noblesse few hours ago (I've read it for 3 days) I checked my facebook and the picture above pop up😀 it was from 10 years ago this day. I collected my memory to remember what's happened😊.

Yeah.. I got the boils all over my left foot, about 4 or 5 boils. The boils didn't grew like volcano but all my left feet was bloated. Nope.. I was having no problem to walk or kicking something, it doesn't hurt..but I felt uncomfortable of the size😂 it took me 2 weeks to recover. I went to 3 doctors and the third one found the problem and cure it within a week. The picture of it then recall other memories😊 2 days after posting this picture on facebook, a new friend I known on facebook called me and propose me to be his future wife😊 and he's my husband now.

He called me for the first time and I could guessed from whim he got my number too😊 so we talked and talked for 4 hours (5 pm-9 pm) by phone about random things till I get tired and asked him what he wants from me. He said He wants me to be his wife😃😄 and I said Yes!

I dunno him, I never met him eye to eye, I have no idea what's his intention but I like his approached, I was single, 35 yo and I still love my single days. With a consideration that he probably older than me, he's far away from me and he diesn't seem to came right away when I need him, I think it's okay to build a secure long distant relationship😊. Funny that we both maintain our relationship for 6 years before we got married in 2016.

this picture belongs to my friend Saiful Azhari, a photographer, a good friend who posted this picture on facebook because I said I have story about that place

It's an old picture, maybe it was taken in 80's, because when I spent my time walking through that street and place in 1999-2004, the situation was so different. The tree was not that big and I think It was cut down now. I walked on that street everyday from my rented room to the radio station i was working at.

In 2000, the first big flood I could remember was happened in Banda Aceh. I was at the radio station doing my daily broadcasting and stay at the studio from 9 am to 6 pm. The rain started to fall at 3 pm. At 6 pm, the blackout started and I left our radio station on third floor and almost get drown when I saw the first floor were full of water😨. A friend still working on third floor, I decided to go home to check on my belongings, if the water must be around my neck at the house I think.

and I can't swim!

Based on my feet memory, I try to walk in the water and keep my head up, I walked carefully on the side floor of the shops along the street. But...😂 when I reached the big tree, I forgot about the ditch cover that has been broken and jumped into the 1 M deep ditch and almost drowning if I didn't have my bagpack😊 my lifeguard. Yeesss... I tried to reach the edge of the ditch cover and pull ip my self to get out of the ditch hole. None helped me out because none there 😁 and I can imagine how funny it was if the situation was different. I watched my steps after that funny accident and reached home safely😀 but everything were floating in the house, none there too but lucky that some of my housemates already evacuated my belongings to the highest place. No place to go, but I need to wash up and sleeping. So, I went back to the radio station, staying there for 4 days.

this is another picture I got from Saiful Azhari, it was another place which lives longer in my memory. Long after this picture has taken, I spent a lot of time and known many good people from that place, including Saiful Azhari.

The place is on Muhammad Jam's street, the south side of Banda Aceh's landmark, Great Mosque Baiturrahman. The picture above was taken on early 80's, when I moved out to Banda Aceh in 1993, it's already changed. The old buildings have been changing to a business cluster, and One of the 8 doors building was an internet cafe "Metropolis" where I spent most of my time from 2003-2004, before Tsunami hits Banda Aceh.

My friend, Rahma was working as the Admin there, I often came to get a free lunch from her😂 and other boys who worked there too. I don't have a place to sleep because I couldn't afford to rent any room with my salary from the radio station. So I slept at the radio station, at my cousin's house, then Rahma's house and at the internet cafe too because I need to wash my dirty clothes😊. The owner's wife found out and she scolded me like crazy😕 but I keep coming back to play there anytime I could😁 she's not there everyday, but my friends are.

Everything changed after the disaster, the internet cafe was destroyed, one of the 5 admin dies in tsunami, Rahma's family move out because her house also destroyed by the tail of the big wave. We hardly met each other after that days, but I always meet Saiful because he's working with my fellow radio reporters.

a single picture has many stories, it's about the moments and the people involved

And I think I have written too many words this time and I'd better stop it now. See you next time

Interesting glimpse into your life... I also met my wife on facebook but she called me and we talked all night.. This continued for a year but we knew after a month we would be getting married, as long as I made the trip across the ocean lol.. I made the trip and never went back, we have known each other almost 4 years, been physically together for 3 years and next week will have been married for a year which reminds me, I need to make some kind of plan haha.. Life is crazy, for crazy people eh 🤗

Yaayyy @skramatters ...congratulations on your first wedding anniversary 😉 and what's happened when you met your wife in the real life for the first time?
You know what... I don't have a single picture of my hubby since we're in relationship, he went to the place I work in 2012, to meet me for the first time, eye to eye 😂 and then I realised it was love at the first sight for both of us.

Haha, you read my mind. About 10 minutes ago, I was wondering if you had drowned in those webtoons 😂

Loads of stories to go with 1 pic. I especially liked the marriage proposal-part. Pretty unusual. Glad it worked out in a good way 😊

I took a break from webtoon because my eyes got swollen for crying and reading a lot 😂😂😂 a break to write this post and checking the discord channel @simplymike... it takes longer than I thought to read all those toons due to the slow internet connection, but I'll accomplished the mission within a week😀

That must have been so scary walking through all that water without knowing how to swim. I love the way you tell it, with such a light heart. You seem like the sort of person that is never bogged down.

It would be interesting to have a picture of a city square, and then ask a few dozen people from that city to tell their stories of it. It is true that every picture has many stories.

I dunno @ginnyannette... I didn't panick at that time, maybe because it's not the first time I fell into that ditch hole during the flood, somehow I've prepared for that situation, naturally. Before I decided to walk through the flood or searching something in the disaster debris, my mind was calculating the risks, the chance to survive, the proper reaction and how to survive a little longer, automatically. Aahhh.. I live in a special place which has long long story of disasters and vertical conflict with authorities😊 it shaped the way I dealt with my life.

My limited ability in english is really helping me to write something with light heart😁 because I barely checked the translator or other app to check the grammar and spelling😐 i just write it while I recall my memories about tge moments.

Thanks for stopping by @ginnyannette
