Celebrating National Potato Day on STEEM (and getting ready for SPUD5)

Happy National Potato Day! This holiday is celebrated each August 19 of the year and is a chance to eat some yummy spuds, plant some, harvest some, and do all things potato.

And speaking of SPUD:

Since we are STEEMing and working to succeed here, this day gives us a chance to contemplate our upcoming SPUD5. STEEM Power Up Day is coming soon on September 1. Are you planning to participate? I am.

The idea of this monthly event is to power up some STEEM to SP so you can grow your account. And what better day than National Potato Day to get our ducks in a row for the power up to come?

SPUD5 is a great way to do better on STEEM and possibly win prizes as well, so give it a shot!

Getting back to today’s National Day of potatoes…

Did you know that potatoes are the most frequently eaten food in the US? Sadly, they are also one of the most toxic too, so it’s best to eat your potatoes organic or grow your own.

Grow your own! That’s too hard!

Here are some ways to grow potatoes if you do not have a lot of space:

If you have land, you can really go to town.

And no matter how you get your potatoes, here is a wonderful way to prepare them. Much better than takeaway fries!

Thank you @xpilar, and for the awesome upvote. I will do a few more posts such as a dPoll before Sep 1. It's hard for people to keep up around here! I really believe in STEEM and I think this monthly event is such a good idea. I will probably not ever win, but I will still take part.

It was a nice coincidence the the potato holiday came up on my project for posting strange holidays :)
