Rep 70 is close but my feelings are mixed.

You're probably thinking... Who am I Michael Scott ... or some sort of prepubescent boy?

How about Michael Scott posing as a prepubescent boy?

Plot twist?
v790hh.png

But for realzies Hollywood, imagine Michael Scarn in a 21 Jump Steet-esque crime series! Would be BRILLIANT!

For the uninitiated, see full movie "Threat Level Midnight below, I'm thinking "Threat Level: Recess" would be a good name for the adaptation I had in mind.

Just send me a few checks when it's a hit cuz you know it would be. You're welcome.

Ok, now that my cover is blown and you know I'm actually a teenager posing as a middle aged dad. I guess it's fine for me to tell you another secret.

I don't see rep 70 as much of an achievement.

I don't see attaining Steem rep as an achievement intrinsically because it's something I've observed many attain via cheating and exploitation.

They cheapened it for me so I don't really care at this point either way. It's just a number. I could name names but maybe I'll until this post pays out so I can hit em w/ some mentions so they can bring me back to 69.

If I could be 69 fa life, I would be cool w that.

Giggity Giggity Goo!

There is however a practical implication that I cannot lower the reputation of any token manipulator above my rep.

You may see this rule on the following Steem Github Link

33o6gz.png

This would be a non-issue spare with user interfaces that use rep as a metric for hiding content such as condenser. It would be nice if we had a bit more sophistication in the system.

Perhaps after users exceed a certain baseline reputation, This rule could be bypassed but guess that would beed to be carefully weighed out. Maybe 69 rep could be the sweet spot? or should I say g-spot... hehe

It would be impractical for someone to zero my rep and I will not stay my tongue for any threat that seeks to do so. I mean, if you happen to be the exploitative type, I would revel in the opportunity to have you waste your VP on me.

I have a whole bag of trix if that day should arrive.

Anyways, let's talk about what I am contributing to the blockchain currently. I feel it is important to update as I continue the labors of love for my fellow workers / builders of the platform.

  • SFR Token Distribution Updates

I have updated the bot functions to only payout delegator flags and will continue the redesign to take past delegations into account. Think of it as a sort of approval mana.

If you have delegated a lot of SP for some time, you will have mana for your flags to be given priority for approval. This is to prevent people leeching the time and energy of our staff without reciprocity.

We may allow a few freebies per mod discretion but I want to be careful that we are not used without consideration for the overhead involved in what we do.

Right now, the approval mana system is NOT in place so it is a good time to put in a minimal delegation to have flags approved but I encourage users to delegate what they think is fair with respect to the collective resources we have pooled together.

  • Chops Bot

After finding out the the meat-giving @chops.token bot was down, I decided to spring into action to not only bring it back up but with a most savory vengeace.. complete with an SFR Discord webhook to any that find a most filling post so we may all partake.

Unfortunately, there are yet a few bugs to work out but I plan to have at it for the remainder of this evening.

Hopefully, we will have some fresh chops coming off the grill soon!🥩

I'm being more tongue-in-cheek than serious. You are one I would consider to have earned it.

One thing I like to make it a point is I work for the autovotes I receive whereas you will see some people get on autovoter and then set it on "cruise control" so to speak. I want to show people another way. A path that is fulfilling and work to transform Steem along with my "posse" that the rewards align to that.

Perhaps, we are starting to get there. In the past, we had some challenges (I speak from my experience as flag war veteran. ps @steemitboard / @arcange, can we get flag war medal? jk or am I? 😅) but it seems we are building a new culture.

More importantly, a culture that is more viable to those on the outside. This imo is crucial for mass adoption. Showing a modicum of fairness and making those that cheat face risks they had not experienced before.

@arcange, can we get flag war medal?

I have been asked for this several times and have always declined. The main reason is that the SteemiBoard project aims to promote "positive" behavior. I'm not a big fan of downvotes, except when it comes to fighting against abuses, spams or scams.

But... But... Not all flag wars are negative??? I know the Haejin one resulting in more vote spread / curation.

I understand it can be beneficial to avoid controversial things. Just not my style,.

Just joking around w this meme but a flag war medal would be pretty dope imo

Think it would be funny. Maybe you could base it on rshares like @flagawhale.

Make @steemitboard a little more spicy. You can be discreet about the specific flag debacle so as to not appear to be taking a position.

In other words, staying neutral but making things a little more spicy. I wouldn't even have it comment. I would just put it on their silently steemitboard page.

Bet you it would cause a buzz in good way. Either way you go, thanks for considering!

According to the eSteem app your rep is much higher

Steem rep is broken, but I feel mine is earned. They could tweak the algorithm to make it better. Multiple votes from the same account should have a diminishing effect really. I guess this has low priority.

I do like to see my rep go up, but appreciate it has limited meaning. 69 should be all we need.

I hear ya. It dont mean much to me. I was passed by so many that came here long after I did and bought there way to the top. I think deep down people know if they earned it or not. Most of us are like Santa and keep a mental list of those we frequent...we know who is naughty or nice. Well, all that to say: Congrats on 70.

Think you pretty much captured my ambivalence towards this milestone but I do want to express my gratitude for the genuine people out there who have acknowledged my work on and off chain to realize it.

I would not want to minimize that but I also want to send a message to the naughty ones that there is a distinction between them and folks that strive. I wished there were something more that can set our kind apart so the outsiders would know from the outset.

I would like to imagine there could be an algorithm that could do that but it may be one of those things that transcends what csn be known through mere code.

Idk if I wrapped my mind around it lomg enough... Perhaps there would be a way for a metric to be developed so users know who the habitual reward farmers are vs those who are really trying to build in earnest.
