Showcasing the cards I received from other Steemians

avatar

Some of you may know that I started a social experiment a few months ago, and quite a few even took part to exchange cards with me. Since my last update a month ago, I received quite a hoard that I want to share with you.

Swtizerland

Apparently @steemitiri The Mannequin did a similar post card exchange previously, it's a pity I didn't find out about it earlier. Given that great minds think alike, I hooked up with him before Christmas and sent him one of the beautiful 3-D Christmas cards I promised to those who wanted one. I'm so pleased my card got to him in Switzerland before Christmas.

In exchange, I got a couple of postcards back from him, they arrived last week. I know he had some specially printed for his postcard exchange previously, and in addition, he also sent me one from his home town Lago di Lugano - with an invitation to visit. I really like how my social experiment has generated so many invitations to visit countries around the world!

This beautiful card is from @sjarvie5. You can't see it very well, but the card has some beads on the front. I was wondering why the envelope felt a bit lumpy when I got it. From this experiment, I found out that @sjarvie5 actually spent some time in Taiwan teaching English some years ago. And she was teaching in a town very near to where I am now! What a coincidence!

Philippines

Like @steemitri, @johnarvee12 also sent me two items. His cards arrived just before Christmas, adding one to my dwindling numbers of Christmas card.

The other item he sent me was this beautiful postcard of the rice terraces in Banaue. He said this is a popular tourist destination and I can imagine why.

Poland

Last and not the least, I received this beautiful card from @gtg. The photo doesn't really do it justice. It's in a shade of midnight blue, one of my favourite colours. The Christmas tree is embossed onto the card with gold beads as decorations, and the rest of the card has a glittery sandpaper feel. The words Happy Christmas is written at the bottom in gold. I love how regal it looks and really appreciate how @gtg went out searching for a Polish made card.

I am still expecting a few more cards to come through, namely from Ukraine, Romania, Australia and Switzerland. And I know some of my Christmas cards still haven't arrived to their recipients yet even though I sent them at the end of November. Hopefully, they will arrive .... one day.

You can find out more about my social experiment here. And, if you would like to receive a postcard from me from Taiwan, please do drop me a message on Discord livinguktaiwan#6787 or Telegram @L_U_T or Steemchat livinguktaiwan.

Look forward to hearing from you!!!
