This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.

Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here - including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks.

I've used some metrics relating to:

  • Posts (P)
  • Comments - number of (C)
  • Number of people spoken to (PS)
  • Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (C R)
  • Comments - length in characters (C L)
  • Witness votes (W) (for those proxying witness votes, your total is always 30)
  • Up-votes to others (V)
  • Up-votes to different authors (U V)
  • Self-votes - No minus score but no bonus STEEM (S V)

Congratulation each and every one on the list. Looks like it was a slightly down week, guess I was not the only one to have a kind of slow/hectic/one of those weeks.

I think with the new steem Milk Challenge that this coming week may see a pick up in activity. I know I am going to try to complete the week.

A reminder @namiks contest has Four Days left to go and,

could result in a 1,000 Steem Power delegation from me for a extensive period of time.

On his last contest, he let the delegations ride for over 3 months I think, so if you have LESS THAN 1000 SP (I believe he is only counting your SP not SP already delegated to you), then Go to Net Flicks or Amazon, or out to the local cinema, or watch some re-run on TV, and write a movie review post.

I think with you doing a lot behind the scenes you're engagement levels lag a little...I don't do anything behind the scenes and so have more time to engage. I guess that's the only way to look at it. I don't spend much time in discord either, that can be a huge chink of time saved too. Still, I know its value and should probably spend more time in there.

Well, the curation league data is good...Would be good to see more people in it. I give it a plug here and there to that end. On discord, yeah, best to have a few that you use and engage with well, than a heap that you only give cursory attention to.

One trend I've noticed is top curator curation rewards are lower. No one earned more than 3 Steem / 1000 which means curation rewards are being more widely distributed. Maybe more people changed auto vote to 5min from 15 so the early adopters aren't gaining so much? Or maybe the bot farms are being destroyed?

Did some of the higher earners ask to be removed from your list because their curation isn't um something they want people to notice?

They have certainly lowered since the fork last year, I wrote a post using the EL stats to show that, at least here, CR rewards are bunching up.

I don’t usually take any out but have done on occasion, but could be that SP is moving around and so some you would expect to see didn’t appear this time.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's just an interesting observation. I do think that if and when Steem goes to the moon, curation rewards will be easier to earn than author rewards because it is a more steady income. So it is interesting to see this decline for some of the people who were doing the best.

Has another engagement champion retired?

Boy, do I wish I had more time to get back into this contest properly. It's kind of hard to say much when you can't do anything about it. So, I won't, other than to say, I could be wrong, but I believe this is the first time since the revised point system that a No. 1 came in under 10,000 points.

And in so saying, I don't want to cast aspersions, again, because I'm not even staying on the list regularly and so have no room to talk. I feel it should be noted, however. This is where engagement is in the era of STEEM under $1 USD and the EIP in effect, even with more and more of us starting to make some noise about it and penguinpablo's reports saying average comments are trending upward.

Regardless, it is a hard thing to maintain week in and week out for very long. That's what makes No. 1 in my mind so special.

Okay, that's more than enough. Sorry to rain on the parade.

This is still a very worthy endeavor, so don't think I don't think it is. That will never be the case. If anything, this engagement league is needed now more than ever. The last bastion of true interaction as far as I'm concerned, other than the pile ons that take place anytime Steemit Inc, a witness or someone else of note makes a post about STEEM in some fashion. Then, everyone comes out of the woodwork to say their peace.

Oh, well. I said I was going to stop raining. Must be the weather here that can't seem to help itself and so neither can I. :)

I wasn't aware but this sounds like good news. And I'm sure, if there is another move in price, the comments will follow. Saying that, I hope that those who have tried to join in when time has permitted are the ones that benefit the most if anything happens.
