A happy Friday to all and I invite you to come and have a look at the pilot of a new coding training project designed by Papillon and a partner non-profit called Imibala.

You will see 16 students here that were split into two groups of eight.
By splitting the groups it allows for more personal direct focus between the tutor and the learners and I will show both groups in action today.

The tutor holds a PhD in Maths and he is a volunteer in the project.

The guy standing at the left is the manager of the center and he is just as delighted as we are with the progress of the students.

The learners are from a secondary school in the area and Imibala works with 21 schools in the area. A perfect field to sow the seeds of improvement and I so look forward to the growth of this new coding training project.
The great news is that Papillon supplied the first 8 new notebooks for the project and a big company was so impressed that they donated 22 new notebooks to the project.

Now come and let's go upstairs to the second floor.

Now what is this? Maths? Yuck! I scraped through maths at school but these kids love it.

To me y=m can never work as it it in the wrong order of the alphabet hahaha.
So yes, the maths teacher is a German lady that holds a degree in Maths and she is also a volunteer in the project.

And then it was computer time for the coding lessons.

Impact and results are important factors to me and we have had a great impact in the past. Some foreign doctors and IT specialists were trained in Papillon's English TEFL classes in the past and they are all working in our hospitals today. One gent even became the general manager of the IT section of a large shopping company.

So what will the future hold for our students here? Exciting when one thinks about it, as the world will really be their oyster. The training is in Java and many will become app developers to help their communities, yet others will become game developers and things like such. We have investigated some markets already and some are willing to take the students on as interns. The perfect solution.

This is true quality development and our prayers are that each of these eager young souls will turn into a combined strength for the better in the future.
Who knows, as when they have completed the course I might even introduce them to Hive. I might put the winking emoji here one day.

Yes , you are absolutely right about equipping them basic tools. Honestly when I was in school in 2013-2014 I urged for these tools because no one provides us in our education more over no body really help us or guide us in way to achieve more good results .

Sad that you didn't get a chance like this.I think that many generations were trapped in the one system for all over time. Each person has their own special talents and it is those talents that one as a tutor needs to identify and to develop. So there never was one box for all education system.

Luckily I have freedom to create projects at this school and there will be many more "new" applications following this one. The management at the place are all fabulous people and they all have the best interests of every child at heart, so it is pleasure for us to assist them in creating better tomorrows for the children.
All for free of course.

Yep , I truly appreciate your work, I wish I had a tutor like you, but let bygones be bygones. I pray that future and present generations can get the best educational tools for themselves to rejuvenate our childhood in a better way.

I believe in giving one's first fruits my friend. It will help no one if we give them rubbish and measurable outcomes will quickly reveal the value of the mew project. The kids can already make their own websites, but there is stll a lot for them to learn.
The thing that makes me happy is that they enjoy the lessons and they are happy with it.

If you mean the coding project, I started the framework and the planning of the project in February of 2021.

A long time I know, but we also had a lot of other work and a project like this needs a lot of time and attention, as there are always so many variables to consider. Research also takes up a lot of time.
The one thing that I favor is to keep things as simple as possible without forfeiting quality.

Amazing job you're all doing here. The environment to teach looks so clean, bright and warm, the best place to concentrate and learn. The staff is really proficient as you say so I'm quite sure this is the ideal niche from which new brilliant students will rise and grow their minds for an incredible future. Both their communities and the world are in need of such individuals.

It looks a bit redundant that I'm commenting like this since I'm somewhat involved but you know I'm rather neutral in my statements or at least I try to.

You are in charge of a different aspect of our work and I really thank you for your kind input here.
Papillon is doing all this for free and the children are also receiving the coding lessons for free.

I remember you have been talking about this coding project a while ago and I am happy that it works that great.
The classes look nice and you have perfect teachers. Maybe you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs in one of the classes 😃

As I said elsewhere, I have the freedom to create and after 20 years in the charity fields, many ideas have crept into this wooden block that I call a head of mine.
They say that one should surround oneself with like minded people, so it was very important to find the correct tutors for this sensitive project. Volunteers that do not want a salary and with the only interest to help the children are not easy to find.

But we were given the very best via the connections of our partner non-profit Imibala that's been working here for many years. So the blending of the two non-profits, Papillon and Imibala, into a partnership is now delivering the fruits.
Hold your hat as I am also working on a few other radical projects.

Regarding your remark about a future Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, all that we want is for each child to be developed to their full abilities and passions, as then their futures will look after itself

Now here's a strange co-incidence, Papillon has been going for 20 years and Imibala for 21 years. so there's a combined experience of 41 years between us.

The lesson is to give the people what they want and not what one thinks that they need.
And of course tthe secret is to create ownership.
I registered The Papillon Foundation as an independent non-profit, owned by the public for exactly this purpose, that the public owns Papillon and it can meet with their wants.

So no political party, or church group ot any other can own or influence Papillon, as it belongs to the general public. We have had some arn wrestling with some groups that wanted to control Papillon in the past, and orders were even give in one instance that I should be removed, but it got nowhere and I am still here after 20 years now.

So yes, one can never know if a new project desired by the people will only have a brief flare up and then die off, or it will last for the duration. Hastily I add that a few projects that we started 20 years ago are still running and growing today.
But such is life my friend.

Thank you Hannes, but we are not trying to teach other non-profits as our job is to upskill young leaders for the future.
They say that a good leader is one that makes others leaders and maybe some day a few of them will also have non profits and they will then hopefully follow the Papillon systems.

I find it extremely disturbing many with degrees struggle to get a foot in a door to gain experience. Hopefully something will give and opportunities open soon.

We can only hope Lady Joan, but I don't see it materializing in the near future.
Things are very tight and extra funds for expansion are simply not available. International investors are also not eager to invest here and who can blame them.

To help one person is better than none, money everywhere is tight and will be that was for some time to come I think. Youth need to think outside of being employed but have to consider ways of self-employment.

We had a small business management course up north and I am dusting it off to present it here.
Also on the list is the basic project management course, as this two courses can be of great help to anyone that want to successfully start their own ventures.
