3 Eco-friendly tips - Nature in our favour

In times renewed awareness, it is good to look for alternatives to supply products of regular use to anyone, such as a toothpaste or from men's own, such as shaving products, mostly for those who shave regularly.

It is public knowledge that the higher the natural rather than the chemical content of the products we use every day, the lower the price, the higher the ecological respect and the lower the pollution. For this reason, it is good to research and share, tips to create good and cheap products, made with natural ingredients of easy attainment. It is time to implement changes in our personal hygiene routine, among other things, to try and use environmentally friendly products that do not generate toxic waste and, in addition, to disassociate ourselves from the marketing network of products manufactured by commercial emporiums that benefit from our needs.

In this sense, I present some products that although they are on the net, sometimes go unnoticed, and I thought worthy of being tested to at least give us the opportunity to take steps to replace chemical products, with its consequent impact on the environment, by natural products. For this, ecocosas offers us a range of natural products that we thank for their ease and simplicity when daring to prepare them.

Natural toothpaste

Ingredients:

Sage, a couple of tablespoons of infusion of the dried leaf.
2 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil.
A pinch of sea salt.
3 tablespoons white clay or kaolin.

Preparation:

Make an infusion with sage, a glass of boiling water with a small spoon of sage for 4 minutes.
Filter the infusion. In a clean glass add two tablespoons of infusion with 2 drops of mint essence and a pinch of sea salt. Add 3 tablespoons of white clay and stir with a small spatula until everything is uniform. Put it in a suitable container (a small bottle) and keep it in the fridge.

Shaving foam

Ingredients

1/3 cup coconut oil.
1/3 cup shea butter.
2 tablespoons olive oil, jojoba or sweet almond.
2 tablespoons Castilla liquid soap or similar.

Preparation:

In a small saucepan, melt shea butter and coconut oil over low heat. Stir occasionally until completely melted. Add olive oil and stir until well mixed. Remove from heat. Transfer mixture to medium bowl or jar of any size and place in refrigerator until solid. Remove from refrigerator and prepare to beat. If it is in a jar, you will first need to transfer it to a medium bowl. Beat with a hand mixer until fluffy, about, 3-4 minutes depending on how cold the mixture is. Then add castilla soap and beat until completely mixed. Place shaving cream in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. It lasts a few months without a problem, as long as we keep it dry.

After Shave Lotion

Ingredients:

3 cups dried or fresh bay leaves.
A few sprigs of dried rosemary.
Rum - white or dark, enough to cover the leaves.

Preparation:

Break the bay leaves and place in a glass jar leaving about 5 centimeters of excess at the top. Add the rosemary and fill it with the rum leaving a couple of centimeters on top, this will give you enough space to give it a good shake. It is placed in a cool and dark place to mature for 4 weeks and then strained into a glass bottle and will be ready for use.

As we can see, all these products are natural and, more than that, homemade because if we get excited about the idea of changing habits in favor of nature, we increase our creativity and self-sustaining skills.

Another advantage is that we will know with certainty its content and its elaboration will be our responsibility. The more we strive to return to nature, the better off we will be, because we can save and, at the same time, reduce the discharge of toxic waste from industrialized products.
