Ecotrain QOTW || Expressing Gratitude

avatar

Gratitude is a way of showing how grateful we are to others. Showing gratitude is not necessary but at the same time, it is very important.

Gratitude is appreciating someone for the hard work they have put in, for the efforts they have contributed, for the hours they have dedicated. No gratitude doesn't mean one would stop doing their work but an expression of gratitude is a kind of motivation and boost for the person to do better each day.

We all do our daily chores, our office work, managing our children and family. That is in a way our responsibility. We are bound to do that no matter what. But surely that doesn't mean we don't deserve a sense of gratification against the hard work we are putting, right?

Whom should we express our gratification to

Gratification must be expressed to all irrespective of how big or small a contribution they are doing to your life. We always say thanks or pay our respect to our managers, colleagues, family, and friends. But we miss out on those who are actually helping us without any expectations or rewards in return like the guards who are keeping awake all night to ensure our security, the Army, the doctors, the policemen, the vocal journalists, and many more. These people are the ones who cannot be missed out on showing our gratefulness towards them.

How I show gratitude

I like to acknowledge people for their work because I know how much it means. I am a very expressive person. So I use different ways to express my gratification towards other people.

  1. I give a kiss to my husband every day to tell him how thankful I am for his immense contribution to my life.
  2. I take my house help out in a week, exclusively for her to shop or look around, enjoy the fresh air and see what's going in the world. This is my way of thanking her for her contribution towards my household chores and in managing my baby.
  3. every time I cook something good, I share it with my neighbors to let them know I'm grateful to them for the support they offer whenever I require it.
  4. I offer tea and biscuits to my building guard and cleaner every day as a gesture of thanks for the work they are doing for our safety and hygiene.
  5. I buy some small gifts for my family every now and then to indirectly express my gratefulness.
  6. I send an appreciation email to my colleagues and teammates for their hard work at the workplace.
  7. I follow the traffic rules to respect the police.
  8. I go and see a doctor whenever in need and follow the suggested protocols to pay my respect towards their services.

How I like to receive gratitude

I believe it's the small little things that matter. I am going to do my job anyways but yes, a small, loving, handwritten note from my husband, a kiss from my baby, a word of appreciation from my family, and encouragement from my friends, a smile from my helpers is what would really encourage me to keep the fire in me going.

And today, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the @ecotrain community for such a respectful topic of the week. Sometimes we forget to show such small little gestures but activities like these make us realize what we are missing. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, this team is doing a great job in spreading kindness and welfare in the community as a whole. RESPECT!

God receives my first appreciation because the gift of life is from Him and so, all that there's within is also my his might, power, and will.

True, the world doesn't stop if we don't appreciate, but it oils the wheels of life well.

That's true. People won't stop their tasks because they have to earn a living and fulfill their responsibilities. But when someone appreciates, it gives you a boost to do better and raises the bar.
