Ghost companies in Germany

Hello,

many people in Germany, are scared of the so called ghost company at this time.

The fear is also justified because there are 200,000-300,000 of them at the time. These are companies that are theoretically bankrupt. There are two types of such companies, the first that anyone can see is the one where the companies can no longer pay because they run out of money. The second type is that of companies that are heavily indebted but still solvent but their debts are greater than their worth. These are the companies that can go bankrupt very quickly.

The second type is much more dangerous than the first. In the first category, companies can be brought into bankruptcy and then either restructured or closed. A very simple thing. But, such companies are still kept alive by the state. With cheap or free money, these businesses are pushed into the second category.

Most are afraid that these companies will go bankrupt at the same time, sooner that expected, starting a ripple effect.

I think it's not bad to keep inefficient companies alive. If these went bankrupt, we would all benefit. Sure, it will be difficult for the employees and most likely I would be affected too, but in the long run it would be the best measure, because this is the only way better companies can stay in the market.

Yes, it will start a crisis, but it will also start a new cycle, which will restore healthy growth. Here I would again refer to the video by Ray Dalio. Sure, a lot depends on politics and what will happen. If we get a red-red-green government, I fear a lot of bad things.

Hallo,
