Happy Easter from me to you

Happy Easter, my friends! To me, Easter symbolizes life. Plants and trees, along with the birth in the animal world. My wish for you and your family would be the renewal of life, love, and happiness.

Have you ever noticed that most holidays, major ones anyway, have a connection to the changing of seasons? The celebration of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, was the date of the winter solstice. Easter, which falls in close to another key point in the solar year: the vernal equinox, which is about mid-March, giving equal parts to day and night. Coincidence? I think not.

For Christians and Jews, all of our religious holidays divide us except for Passover and Easter. Passover and Easter divide us by bringing us closer together.

Passover and Easter are different in that Passover, as theologian Martin Buber has written, is celebrated by a meal eaten for God, while Easter is celebrated by a meal eaten of God.

Passover celebrates a God who could not become visible, while Easter celebrates a God who had to become visible to save a sinful humanity. Passover is about liberation for a nation of slaves. Easter is about liberation of individual believers from the enslavement of sin.

There are worlds of difference between these two faiths, and as much as we wish to come together, our sacred histories do keep us apart. However, we've only kept apart the way singers in different parts of the same choir are kept apart by the timber of their voices. We're kept apart the way climbers are kept apart by their choices to climb the same mountain by different paths. Passover and Easter teach us that the ways we're different, though real and defining, are not nearly as important as the ways we're all the same. Let me pray this truth now. Just as God reached into every Hebrew home during Passover, then as now, so God reached out into every Christian heart during Easter, then as now.source

Easter is also about those Easter eggs we do every year. One year sparkly eggs, one year tie dye, and one year they were just bold colors. The sky is the limit, although when they were younger if it was too complicated, I got to finish them while the kids watched with glazed-over eyeballs. Parenting was such a crapshoot. No matter what you did, you could guarantee it was the wrong thing. Murphys Law and all that. We were on a first-name basis.

The kids really got the hang of tie dyes the very first year. The eggs were fun when we did them and we keep migrating back to them, although last year we felt the need for a little sparkle, so we did ones that involved glitter.

Growing up, there were a lot of Easter lilies or white tulips for Easter and an Easter bonnet. Shoot me, I'm Catholic and we loved this tradition. Until we didn't, but, that came much later when we were teens and knew everything. Oh, yes. I even knew better. But, that is a story for another post.

Oh, yes. The baskets. I cannot forget that. And honestly, I wouldn't want to. Happy Happy Easter! :)

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people.Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

I love the color of the eggs! ^^ Even though I’m not celebrating EASTER, I really like the colorful eggs! The colorful eggs are light on my eyes and I remember my youth! ^^

We did quail eggs this morning! :) I have no idea why we do two. We did duck eggs one year. OMG... they are huge!!! We are pretty weird that way. I won't go into the different eggs we have done!

Happy Easter to you and yours. Have another amazing day, my friend!

Of course, metaphorically, Easter means life, that is, resurrection that is no longer followed by death (it is not valid for us humans and other living things on earth).
For now, it's life, and let's enjoy it. I only wish you well and beautiful, because it cannot be good without beauty. Happy Easter!
PS Although I am not a Catholic, I like the Easter tree you decorated and I think I will make one according to your model, even if it is not in the Orthodox tradition. I think it would be appropriate to have a union between religions ...

Isn't the Easter Tree fun? We have always done one and it is like Christmas without a tree if I don't do one. Metaphorically, it does mean life, and for me, that is the living. Easter was a big deal growing up in a Catholic family and going to Catholic Schools. But, being away from the center of it all like I am now, it is an important day, but, less than it was when I was growing up. I believe in bridges between religions. It makes for a better understanding. I am all about the understanding of people to people. Why aren't our politicians? It makes me wonder if their intentions are as pure as ours are.

I wish you a most wonderful day, Dan! @bluemoon

Happy Easter! And lovely decorations!

Holidays definitely, traditionally, are tied to natural phenomena; it was the way our ancestors were best able not just to identify the growing seasons, but to celebrate life and, in the case of Easter/Eostre celebrations, life's renewal.

Of course, you are right! Happy Easter, Victor! It is not the post I intended, but, I fooled around with things last night and posted long after I should have been sleeping. Renew that thought and I will do better tonight! :)) I hope you and yours are having a splendid day! Happy Birthday to your son! I think it is his birthday! Get him the cool desk! I showed it off to my daughter and she put it on her list of things she wants. Ha!

Happy Easter!

Oh yeah, I seriously want that desk, too! I'm putting it on my 'fathers day' list for the kids 😂

Yep! He turns 19 today! And like a proper 19 year old should be, he's still sleeping at 10:30 on a Sunday morning! Lucky twerp.

Yes!! Don't we wish we were 19 again... Wait! When I was 19, I was working and going to school. And didn't have a life. I am much better off where I am now. Life was so hard back then. :)) But, it was so fun!
