Currently, I am in Japan for some paper work stuff and a bit of research work. I came across these traditional Dutch waffles called stroopwafels. Apparently, they got a rebirth down here and were converted to Ginza waffles! :P (the text in left corner says Dutch Waffles born in the Netherlands) This is something of a Japanese thing, taking products, concepts, and turning them into a Japanese version. For example, stuff that they japanesed are deepfrying, whisky, jazz and now stroopwafels. :D It is a pretty interesting way of building a culture/identity on.
