Alone in the Wild - Chowilla Game Reserve Kayak Camping Trip Part 7

This is the seventh part of my series Alone in the Wild which documents my journey through a section of the Chowilla Game reserve to the north east of Renmark here in South Australia.

For this part of the journey I continue on my journey from campsite 1 through to campsite 2 stopping off for lunch along the way.
There were some fun sections with overhanging branches which I got to cruise under, stuff like this really adds to the experience but a large portion of this part there was a lot of large open areas which then fed into narrower sections of the creek.
I was still going with the current of the creek so this was fairly cruisey and wasn't too strenuous on my arms and shoulders.

My back was a bit sore by this stage and my bum was starting to get numb lol so I had to stop off for a bit and stretch the old legs and have a feed.
I have to admit it was really nice stopping off for lunch, there was no one around and I had the place to myself which was nice to think about. I also found a really nice big old tree to sit on.

Some of these sections were really cool with the big ol trees hanging to the creek bank half washed away, and there were some more animals to enjoy. you really gotta love the sound of a wedge tail eagle with their piercing sound.
I also saw something really weird just by the bank and I thought maybe it was a snake, but it turns out it was a carp. I have never seen them do this before but it was in the really shallow water about 10 cms deep and moving like it was stuck there, but it must have been looking for worms in the mud.
Because only a little bit of the top of the carp was sticking out the water it looked like a snake. When I got to my second campsite I saw one doing this again at the bank of the creek by my campsite, and when I went in for a closer look realized it was a carp.
Normally the water is too deep to see them doing this, but because this was a creek I could see them in action. I also now know why the river is so muddy looking, the carp foraging through the mud all the time makes the water look so dirty.

By the end of this part I'm actually not too far away from my second campsite, so we are slowly but surely getting there because after the second campsite is where things really started to get interesting.

All in all this was a very interesting ride.

This is quite a unique experience.
I couldn't find anything like this so my experience will give you a good idea of what to expect if your thinking of doing something similar.
Maybe your in another country and can't do the trip yourself, so you can ride with me and enjoy the experience.
The video could have been done better, I'm new to this type of thing so next time I will have a better setup and I will be mindful not to move my head around too much :)
