Stenciling Steem logos on paper

(Edited)

This logo was made by my friend @whangster79 using his carbon dioxide laser cutter. Using a permanent marker it becomes a template to stencil Steem designs. I take some legal size paper and start with one layer, then remove the template and go over it slowly with various markers. I use a blue marker as well to add some effect to the design, and blue seems to be the primary color for Steem anyways.

Please excuse the sound of the marker, its pretty terrible. Like the sound of nails on a chalkboard to me. They were new and quite annoyed with what I was doing to them, screeching in sharpie pain. And I ended up bleeding through the other pages below. So be aware of what is under what you are using the permanent marker on. So nothing below gets ruined, I added more paper just in case this happened as I know markers tend to bleed through paper more and more over repeated over.

This background will give my videos on my lab table more of a unique look. And will also help my camera focus better on what I am trying to look at. I find when I set my camera up over plain white paper the auto focus gets confused. So I hope this will help.

I plan on making over designs using what my friend made for me as a stencil. Or maybe ill paint the actual stencil to give it a new look. There is another design my friend gave me as well, though its not cut all the way through like this one is. So maybe ill start with that one painting it and then work with this circular one later on, as the one that is cut through has alot of utility to it.

the materials in making the logo looks simple but the result was good. I have no idea what is that carbon dioxide lasdr cutter. I think it's out of my knowledge. lol

The wood is a particle board like material. And the carbon dioxide laser is just a type of cutting and etching laser. Different lasers use different chemicals.

Very cool! Glad you brought it up on #pypt. I love gadgets, too. My neighbour just bought a CNC that I"m hoping he sets up soon so I can play with it to do similar type things.
