[EP273] - Planned Obsolescence

I don't like to buy things. I don't love spending money when I don't need to, and I'd much rather fix something than buy a new version.

I've been hanging onto my phone for years now... the physical phone was totally fine, the screen was perfect... but with every single update it seemed to get slower and slower. I put up with it because I really didn't want to get a new phone when I didn't need to.

It got to a point though, where it was actually unusable and so I had to get a new one... but I'm still not happy about it even though this new one works perfectly well. I feel like I'm rewarding the manufacturers terrible behaviour.

Do you have to deal with these sort of things? How do you cope?
