The Dollar Index Is No Substitute for Gold.
In this report, from London on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 I look at the dollar index, gold, the gold-silver ratio and silver.
I look at the long term cycles in the dollar index and show how the average long term cycle in the last forty years has lasted about 8 years on average from top to bottom and vice versa.
Even though gold and the dollar may trade inversely in the short term the long term picture shows that gold has actually outperformed the dollar index since the dollar bottomed in 2008.
The gold-silver ratio is pointing to a further move higher in the precious metals from now until the beginning of 2020.
