Libra via Facebook. I now Facebook needs a major cleanup but is using a woman's hygiene product the way to go?
Bugger Facebook and their plans for anything they do they lost me years ago when I got sick of watching all the people around me swiping away at their handheld devices of fatuation. Maybe I just am getting to old school in actually talking to people face to face not via Fakebook.
Good Luck to R T on his latest endeavour I will be watching on to see the progress of it.

There is an option we could all believe that the world of Star Trek does exist.

I have no opinion on Facebook... I mean good or bad... they are here and they have a large portion of the social markets... Libra would be good for crypto just because of that... about spreading the word... On the other side, it's not so big loss if it doesn't come...

Sooner or later, some of the big players will add crypto as a payment processor (as some of them have done), and everyone will pay with crypto soon...

As they said in Star Trek: "Resistance is Futile!" :)

Thanks for a great show, and have an awesome time in Thailand Richard, now I think those jumpoffs from Libra was inevitable, they got in to get the info on the project, but they where not really serious about it to begin with, and then add the pressure from regulators and they just jumped.

And as to Telegram and crypto, I love the app, but I have no idea how they would do crypto or even money in general on there, but maybe it could work if they do something like Wechat.

That analogy with communities on Steem to subreddits was great, that even makes the 3 Steem price tag sensible, it's not even close to what the tribes are, communities are just a subreddit.

What Steem needs though is way easier onboarding and ease of use, that could get adoption up to Warp Speed as they say in Star Trek, and to be fully honest here, I have watched most of the movies and tv-series in that franchise, I don't like the latest one though.

Keep up your great work and stay awesome.

Thanks Jon and Richard for a most interesting show.

Richard, all the best on your Thailand adventure.

I've been reading a few Dr Google PhD articles re International Monetary Fund and their view on crypto. Back in May, they suggested having a global digital currency as a replacement for the reserve currencies that are currently part of the special drawing rights mechanism for reserve currencies as not "a far-fetched hypothetical". They said this week that digital currency technology may lead to a new global payment system fairly recently.

Perhaps they'll use the Star Trek Federation currency Latinum, as that's familiar to so many people, and would lead to easy adoption. When governments can borrow from IMF with crypto, we'll see the technology leap from crypto dabblers to mainstream Joe and Janet Public users. If this new Latinum takes off, then crypto currencies will need to consolidate. Be like the European Union, in how countries became part of that confederation and in the process adopted the Euro.

Make it so. Roll on 2020!
